Can confirm. What is worst is that I'm living far from city and I leave in a countryside near the mountains and seaside so the internet coverage is near ok at best. Literally no one here knows what is a 3ds,Switch,etc. Children here can only play playstation and xbox on the arcade that my uncle owns where you insert a coin to play. Otherwise, they pretty much only play LoL and Dota. I don't really mind all of those factors but the price of gaming stuff here spikes up to 50% so it is pretty understandable why no one can afford their own gaming system here

It depends on the country, but yeah, in some cases this is true. Since upper-class Latin Americans travel to the US frequently, they usually buy consoles there and bring them home.

1. Arcades in Japan continue to be accessible to a large part of the population and thrive

2. Japan has relatively low economic inequality

3. Home consoles are generally only purchased by children, who are more likely to play with friends
