The discount period is almost running out! 40 bucks for this amazing masterpiece is a fucking STEAL. Especially when all the mega links and torrentz with the pirated version have keyloggers in them and Cleve's based advanced DRM.

Cleveland Mark Blakemore, the creator of Grimoire, legitimately believes he's a Neanderthal, and thus, superior to all the Homo Sapiens (Sapes) that roam the Earth.

Tell you what, anon. Read this post. Try to make it through the entire thing. Once you're done, you will understand.
>>
>>386860723
>sapes outbred thals
In evolutionary terms, that's all you need.
>>
>>386860379
Neanderthals had bigger brains than homo sapiens. For cleve, this means they were the chosen people of god
>>
>>386860883
i've discovered a bug in evolution and will report this to the high thal immediately.
>>
>>386860561
According to him, Neanderthals are actually secretly the best and it's just Sape narrative that they were dumber.
>>
>>386859913
He should be a writer. He'd be way more successful.

I mean it wouldn't be hard to be more successful then he currently is.
>>

thals didn't go extinct just because sapes outbred them. thals were literally too retarded to hunt anything that was not a big dumb mammoth -who were going extinct- and ended up dying like fags

So, after getting 5/9 Tablets and talking to the owl, the game is bugged and impossible to progress.

>Lysandra does not have her Tablet. It does not exist.
>In the Hive, the quest to kill the Wasp Empress is bugged. You cannot finish this quest because the tag to finish it does not work.
>Asmodeus does not have a Tablet as he should.
>If you send Kraken back to the deep with the helmet, because he is not dead, the Kraken is Gone/Dead tag does not trigger and everyone acts as though he is alive.
>Skullheim does not recognize Lilith no matter what you do.
>Rescuing Admiral from the ship by adding him into your party will not actually rescue him, and the Vanguard still declare him missing even after seeing him in your party with you. If you kick him from the party, he goes back to his ship and still asks for rescue
>The Mistress has a bookcase leading to a secret area. This bookcase is bugged and will not open to the secret area.
>Knossos Tower does not work, the items to solve the puzzles are not recognized if you assayed them.
>The White Owl does not possess the Cube of Power and if he tries to give it to you, the game crashes.
>Tabernacle does not contain a Tablet, and the sanctum in the Tabernacle is bugged
>Even if Black Pierre is killed, everyone thinks he is still alive, and this causes problems with certain NPCs later, who ask you to kill him.
>There is no way to rescue the Dragon in the Beastiary, even opening the cage will cause him to stay in place and not realise the cage is open
>Little Daisy stays in the ship even when she says she is going to Crowl, leading to this quest to never finish
>Kublai has doors that will never open even when picked, but have chests and even stairs inside when using Wizard Eye
>Kublai cathedral does not recognise the Bell
>No one cares Ahriman is dead, or notices

It's just as likely that Neanderthals were killed out by Sapiens or simply integrated and dissolved into Sapien society. The only thing we can say for certain is that the groups interacted and the Neanderthals were outperformed in just about every way.

The Sape is immunized against all dangers: one may call him a scoundrel, parasite, swindler, profiteer, it all runs off him like water off a raincoat. But call him a Sape and you will be astonished at how he recoils, how injured he is, how he suddenly shrinks back: “I’ve been found out.”

Click on the portrait of the character and see what weapon class he is better at in terms of skills. Are you paralyzing your enemies as that gives them increased AC and they get more frequent 0 rolls, is your vitality also kept relatively high as well? As you level up hitting stuff becomes slightly easier

Well we already know that thal and sape alike bred together til thal's went extinct, and we also know that the more neurons an animal has relative to the size of its body the more intelligent it's (likely) going to be. it'd be kind of weird if thal's had bigger brains but it was just thoughtless padding like Dolphin's or something.

>>
>>386863541
I predicted it would be a broken, buggy mess if it was released. Then it was released and was quickly discovered to be a broken, buggy mess, with patches somehow making things worse.
>>
>>386863192
The size of a brain doesn't correlate with the brain's neuron density. For example, MGTOW memes might be funny, but despite having an average smaller brain size women have higher neuron density so it compensates back.
>>

>>386863740
I really don't know enough about the subject to argue this properly but, if the species were genetically similar enough to be compatible for viable reproduction without producing sterile offspring, surely the neuron density of their brain matter would be almost exactly the same?
>>
>>386863549

cleve never sticks to his word, so rest assured it will go on sale this winter. eventually sales are gonna completely stop (if they havent already) and no money will be coming in. even his 'brain' will figure out that discounting it to like $10 during a sale, with front page exposure, will bring in a lot of cash.
>>
>>386861172
>There is no way to rescue the Dragon in the Beastiary, even opening the cage will cause him to stay in place and not realise the cage is open

It says he's tied up with a crystal chain. Opening the gate wouldn't do anything.
>>
>>386864047
They ascended past feeble desires such as conquering, and decided that for all self-aware life on Earth, it was best to be as stupid as possible. And so, with the Sapes they lay, comfortable in the knowledge that they were allowing a truly awakened species to one day make the same discovery they did, but in a much smaller volume, to minimize the suffering. Because of this, science would still progress, and one day, end the Universe once and for all.

Don't you see? Nobody wants this miserable existence to continue. Nobody.
>>
>>386863975
A man and a woman are clearly genetically similar enough to reproduce with each other and their neuron density is different. Think about that one.
>>
>>386864506
I mean sexual dimorphism and two different species mating are kind of different things, Anon.
>>
>>386864214
All this stuff has been posted by at least 3 different people at the moment, last I checked the forums. Cleve knows but who knows when the fix will be coming.

All 3 people have the same problems as I do. One has even tried talking to him on RPG codex about it, and his response was, Well, did you do all this? And after saying yes, he didn't reply back again.

Yes, and using the item to break the chain doesn't trigger and the item is gone. He still is there. I don't want to post too much in the way of spoilers, but it is bugged.

I'll be fucked if I remember the item names because the zoo was one of the first places I went after crowl with the druids. All I wrote in my notes were the shit that wasn't working and where as posted above.

I didn't try writing down a walkthrough but for an area breakdown, these are the general storyline progression I went by:
Crowl -> Druids -> Kublai -> Waterport -> Blackspike[Where the chests to put the tablets into is] -> Pyramids -> Bahomet Wilds -> Tabernache

Although each storyline has a fuck-load of areas in it.

Large enemies groups that instant kill and attack multiple times, and being large means that you have to rely on Horn of Winter to CC them with a bard or sage, but the Horn of Winter is also bugged and doesn't lower charges.

Heavy reliance on utility spells[Detect Secrets as you make it through a map, with Detect Item cast at max level to see 100% of the map and what plot items are where, and mind read/stealing from NPCs to get plot items and shit] and lethal blow for the main combat line. Hell, if you really want to cheese, find a Detect Item scroll, save before you use it, screenshot then load after to see the entire map, any possible secret doors and where the items are. With the Deadringer Map being bugged, it's the only way to get the Cathedral Bell easily, although the people you give it to don't even recognise it.

Stats that really don't matter, AC that overflows making the front line unable to actually be tanky in anything other than hp

The same repetition of puzzles for every locked door, and constant crashes for everything.

NPCs whose stats go over 100, or skills, or start with all Eldritch spells.

Pretty good considering all that and the fact that I now have no idea what to do now.
>>
Well yeah, but where can I pirate this? pirate bay?
>>
>>386866160
Well, believe what you will, but I am not the only one experiencing said bugs and when you get to the point that I am you'll probably realise that you're fucked until cleve fixes shit.

Something else I didn't mention is that Princess Dahlia is not in her cell when you go to rescue her. Detect Person says she is in the map, but she doesn't appear.

If this happens, reload a save before you talk to Raji, and go through the entire process again until she appears.

Not sure what the fuck goes wrong there.

Anyone can use any spellbooks if you have read magic or points in scribe. Spellbooks are not class restricted.

You can have a Cleric with Firestorm and Summon Undead. Anyone can learn anything as long as they have the book.

Seems a bit broken, if you don't have a high scribe and continuously fail to learn the spell, it still increases your Arcanum skill. it finally went through and learned it and it doesn't even show up. Maybe there is a level restriction and I'm still below it. Wish Cleve would release that manual in the next 24 years.

Because we trusted Cleve, believed him and each FKN time he lied to us, not releasing the game, then promised again and failed to release the game again. Cleve destroyed his reputation many times and toward him hatred Jihad Revenge grew in our hearts, now its filled with destruction desire. That's why so many negative reviews on Steam and Cleve fully deserves it. Plus that ridiculous savegame-name bug solve that an other much better programmer-developer helped him to solve..

Wizardry 7 is hard enough for me. I don't even think it's as impossibly difficult as people say but it's definitely not easy.

I seem to have made an error that has me pretty concerned that I might have wasted a shitload of my time. I decided to go into the hidden City underneath Munkharama and thought, I'll be fine. Turns out the monsters in this place are really, really fucking hard and I can't see any way back up. Rather than do the smart thing and just reload before going down, I decided to see if I could hack it.

Well, 3 hours later I am starting to think it's literally going to be impossible, and beginning to face the possibility that I might just have to reload and do something else before enterting this area.

Problem being that when you enter, there is no ladder back up and I assume you ahve to fight your way out... but idk

>Pressure to purchase Grimoire
>Contempt for the pirating of Grimoire
>Claims that uploaded copies of Grimoire contain viruses, bitcoin miners, keyloggers

>Grandstanding

>Rabid belligerence
>Ignorance regarding good game design
>Ignorance regarding good writing
>Ignorance regarding color theory

Poor reasoning and argumentative skills are also characteristic. When faced with logic they'll adopt a veteran gamer stance and insist their opponent is better suited playing games generally regarded as casual, i.e. "Go back to Skyrim, kid." Or the new favorite, "You haven't even played Wizardry."

Definitely do not play the PS1. DOS version is the best by far. All you are getting with console versions are graphics, at the cost of actual gameplay and challenge. I'm going to make it my business to ensure this conspiracy comes true, starting with getting at the game code and tipping off Valve to try and get it pulled from steam for detrimental effects on user security.

if you think aquavia is hard you are in for a fucking rough ride my friend, wait until you get to ore worms that permanently destroy equipped armor and weapons with acid, dragonflies that attack 3 times a turn and instantly kill anyone they damage, who are also faster than your entire party and always act first, ninjas who attack 12 times per turn for 80+ damage a hit, etc.

if you are having problems in aquavia you have a long fucking road paved with broken glass ahead of you.
>>
>>386891915
You can't play it to finish.

Multiple posts even here, Steam Forums and RPG Codex all have the same issues that prevent playing the game to finish. So far, the most tablets people are able to get are 5 of the 9 because the last 4 don't trigger correctly and the game begins breaking later to the point that objects cannot be interacted with to continue to the end.

Hell, most of these issues are the same issues you can find in Coop's bug reports when he was testing a beta version years ago, and they were never fixed.

It's sort of the nature of these games that shit goes wrong because of the absolutely insane amount of content that is in them and all the different things working together in unpredictable ways. It's almost impossible to forsee what can go wrong in this kind of game due to all the different variables that are changing at any given time, much less when it's a one man team doing it without a big budget at all.. that doesn't mean don't critique the bugs and shit, obviously. So, as someone who goes to SA, I have been looking and there is no topic at all about Grimoire.

They straight up don't care about it at all, so why is everyone blaming SA for the shitposting? Hell, using search on the Forum for Grimoire only shows 5 posts, where someone asks if it's worth getting and then they post that the patch breaks the game and it isn't worth it at the moment - back when the saves weren't working.

There isn't a topic about it anywhere, so why is everyone bringing them up?

Why is it that I can load up something like Nethack or Dwarf Fortress and get a much more stable game than this turd that's been stewing for over 20 years?

It can't be because Cleve is one man, because Toady has been patching and releasing new content for DF for years.

It can't be because it's large in scope, your average rougelike is just as many in depth mechanics and you can still reach the end of the game without running into some bug that prevents you from making progress.

So what is it?

I don't know much about it but I will say, writing and thinking through every step of a 600 hour adventure and world and fine tuning it to a specific manner, is much different than creating a generative simulation in which anything can happen. I am suggesting that theoretically, making a 600 hour world to explore with 600 hours of quests and interactions and possibilities that specifically happen in a 2.5 dimensional world with specific art and animations and specific expectations/character interactions would take longer than creating a sandbox/simulation in which the user creates most of the actions that take place.

I need to play that game though obviously. I just don't think it's so obvious that making Dwarf Fortress would be more difficult than making Wizardry or Grimoire. I'm not convinced by that.

You recall incorrectly. Everything in the game has its own behavior as far as how it interacts with the game's world. Just because it uses ASCII graphics doesn't mean that the systems in place aren't complex.

I told you I respect Dwarf Fortress and my knowledge of it is more than I gave myself credit for. I dont think you know much more than I do what I'm talking about. I think I underestimated myself, and overestimated you.

Fact is, Dwarf Fortress is incredibly great but the idea that coding it would somehow be easier than coding and producing Wizardry is simply bullshit. I get that everyone likes to think of Dwarf Fortress as the God-tier of all games and blah blah. It's a great game, you didn't see me dispute that at all. I'm not an idiot, and you're projecting your own stupidity on me.

I am simply informing you that making art, animation, and a full 600 hour quest that you write and produce yourself is every bit as time consuming and difficult as making an in depth simulation with ASCII graphics.

I've coded AI and emergent systems before. I'm familiar with general artificial intelligence to a low extent but enough to know that it's not easy. That said, producing the illusion of emergent gameplay and simulation is largely over-exaggerated. It's just as hard to produce a specific story and experience as it is to produce a simulation. It might not be as respectable or mind-bendingly intellectual, but that doens't make it EASIER per say in terms of time and energy. That's all I'm saying.

This. Grimoire is for brainlets compared to Dwarf Fortress. It has extreme autistic levels of complexity.
>>
>>386896000
You still have never played Wizardry or Grimoire.
>>
>>386895905
I'm not a massively talented artist, but I could churn out art assets of a better quality than every single one of those in Grimoire within a month, tops. The only way it would take longer is if you were absolutely unskilled and had to take longer to reach an "acceptable" standard than it should, or ao creatively bankrupt that you can't come up with art for standard fantasy tropes on demand.

even if you don't like the game, the playtime is higher than 99% of all other released games. i'm at roughly 50 hours and not even 50% of the map explored.

I said neither of those things, but it should still be experienced.

I think you need to cut down on that kool-aid.

Nigga please, most of the enemies in this game have 3-5 frames of animation and that's if they do something aside from attack and spin in place. Also, I've literally run campaigns of D&D where I made up everything on the spot as well so coming up with quests isn't nearly as involved as you make it out to be.

It doesn't matter how "in-depth" your aesthetics are if the programming behind them is garbage, and the fact that you think that they're in any way equal, while admitting that the most you've done is watch a Let's Play and shit, I dunno, It's rare to see someone this arrogant and have them genuine believe their own hype this much unironically.
