Just started Tag Force 5, and I need some help with a good starter deck to make. you just gotta read card descriptions and see what would go well together. also the ration of card types is extremely important. I always have 7 trap cards and 7-8 spell cards if I remember correctly. the rest is all just monsters. then you need to think about if you wanna do synchros or not. you don't need them, you could also tribute summon or just build a deck around ritual summoning. synchro is still faster, however. so get some common tuners that work with anything and not just one type. also, X-Saber synchros are your bread and butter in the beginning. they are quite useful. they got a tuner which can't even be destroyed but you do lose life points, however but that dude is useful if you wanna bring out dank synchros.

Yeah, I haven't been into Yugioh since the zeitgeist when I was in middle school, so I was unfamiliar with tuners and whatnot. What you mentioned about the ratio of spell cards and trap cards vs monster cards, is that a commonly agreed upon ratio? Because that's one thing I've struggled with.

I figured that I could make a decent deck just by using mostly cards from a single themed pack with some extra spells (Nobleman of Crossout, Dark Bribe, Fissure), but I tried it first with "In My Element", the Ice Barrier pack, and it's not very good.

Buy a bunch of presents. Give them presents until they have a heart icon. Spam talk minigames until you can't anymore (if on an emulator it helps to just save state and fast forward a lot)

After that make them follow you and repeat the process on other characters. After a few minutes you should have a few characters at 50% or more of a heart and the one you had following you will be at 100%

I honestly don't know. I just figured it out by myself that it's a good ratio because when I had a different one I never got the cards that I needed in time. so it's a good ratio to have the game system go easy on you for sure.

don't go single themed btw. most of them will make you have too many restrictions. rather use monster cards that work well with pretty much anything to raise your chances of victory.

the spell card choices you posted are essential, I think. so keep using those. also, the game is about experimenting with what deck works best. I just adapted when I noticed something never worked out for me and got different cards in and strategized.

I usually go closer to 1:1 between monster cards and spells/traps, but to be honest it depends on what deck you run.

Something important to note about more modern yugioh is the existence of 'archetypes' which provide support for cards of their own type. Crow uses the Blackwing archetype, which is very powerful in Tag Force. Some of the best decks can be built with cards which all share the same 'archetype', because they are better at supporting each other.

Basically the point of the Tag Force is just choose a partner, follow their route and the dating sim aspect.

If you really like GX then Tag Force 1-3 are your games, if you just want to play for the experience maybe 4-5 or Special could be better options.

Still Tag Force 1 is a very fun game, just a very slow or annoying one at first, you go from developing friendship and trust with characters is more rewarding, after that they will choose you to take part in the tag tournament and later the shadow riders arc which is the final part of the game.

It's kinda funny. In the current game, cards like twin twisters, maxx c and the ogre are staples.
However, sometimes those simple cards you mentioned can be deceptive. You can't run a whole deck with them but they can be effective when you're not expecting them. I've seen people with good decks losing after the activation of a magic cylinder (but, at the same time, it's a one trick pony).

It's got the most updated card pool (at least of the Tag Force games), but it lacks a lot of the good support that came out in the same year.

It also only lets you partner with 5 characters from each era, and nobody else is voiced, either.

Overall I give it a 5/10. Playable and enjoyable, but ultimately unsatisfying if you're a fan of all of the eras and characters. Arc-V especially got hardcore shafted, since it was only 2 packs in, so nobody has any of their better support cards.

There are some exceptions in TFSP. For instance, Gogenzaka has voice clips for summoning most of Yusei's synchro cards, like Formula Synchron.
