Is this game actually worth playing now?

New update fucking broke the ps4 version. horrible framerate drops and certain menus tend to hardlock the system.

No unless you can get it for like 5$ maybe.

Oh they're updating this?
I thought Sean had run away with the money
Kudos to them for trying to fix that mess I guess

HG is the first company to go against all gaming standards. They released a full priced stand alone DLC and then decided to build the rest of the game after the fact lol
>>
>>386853086
must be your PS4 -- I got a PS4 Pro and haven't had any of those issues yet or atleast noticed them

also don't forget to restart your PS4 atleast once a day if you use Rest Mode

other than that no problems on my end

He did run away with the money.

It made nearly $200 million in the first month.

He used 1% of the revenue to hire 50 talented people for this update, while he jacked off in his mansion.

This. I wish there was an actual endgame. Even with the new update you're grinding things out to grind things out to grind things out. The only goal is the center and there's barely an inventive to get there.

Everything Sean has ever shown be it in a trailer or in "live" gameplay demos are fabrications. In a game where everything is determined by horseshit rng all of that aforementioned stuff we saw before release are the only things that were actually handcrafted.
>>
>>386852998
if they eventually add like 60+ multiplayer mode (where you can see people and everything) i would totally buy this
>>
>>386857882
I think everyone who plays this game must have some form of mental retardation.

The better the ship you get to go deeper into areas of space determine the amount of life and terrain you will encounter.

If you get a beast of a ship, you will most definitely be able to find planets with dinosaurs bigger than fucking houses.

Also really weird fucked up things you would never have dreamt of.

This game only rewards you on your patience and ability to use your enviroment to it's full potential and gather everything you need.

I'll rape a planet or two in a few hours now, but still find planets I can spend hours on without getting bored.

This game isn't for 2 second attention span children and never will be. It's literally not made for this generation of "gamers" and I hope they don't try to turn it into something else with MP.

As far as I'm concerned they could have just kept the game single-player, because MP attracts the worst crowds of people.
>>
>>386852998
Looks cool. Give it another few updates and I'll buy it.

I'll usually avoid memebandwagoning but I'll have to give you your (you).

You are seriously saying that game about shooting laser to a slightly differently shaped rock than on previous planet "isn't for 2 second attention span children"? There is still nothing to do in the game and it is my biggest buyers remorse.

I never expected it to be my final space game if you know what I mean, but goddamn. Expect nothing and think of the worst case scenario behind the marketing hype and it's still less than that jesus fucking christ.

You do realize Sony pushed them to release basically an unfinished game because Sony needed to get a quick game under it's belt because they literally had fuck all at the time and people were beginning to wonder what the fuck was up

Game should have just been released recently instead of when it was, fucking Sony made them out to be a AAA studio when they literally came from making games like Joe Danger.

Anyone with half a fucking brain could see that they aren't a AAA developer and deserved what they got for believing an indie game was more than that.

I'm hoping this isn't the last big update. They've done some pretty cool stuff with the last few, each one makes it more like a full game than the last.

I can at least respect Hello Games for not abandoning it. Even with this, though, I don't think its anywhere near complete yet.

The damage to this games reputation is already done. The niche will be playing but the masses that bought the game that Hello Games are going to want to try and win back will show very little interest, if any, at this point. Good luck to them for trying to salvage this mess.

what comp does nms have? Other shitty early access games on steam? People want no mans sky to be good and continued support. It was rancid at launch but even then you can see some potential if they had updated it and they already have twice with no sign of stopping. It actually resembles a game now.
>>
>>386863938

Pretty much this. No Man's Sky will never get any amount of general positive press or hype again. Which is fine, it made a fucking huge amount of money. Its a mark of some amount of integrity that Hello Games is at least trying to make it worth that amount of dosh.

The only people still crying over this game are the idiots who bought it at launch and felt cheated. If you didn't realize this was a flop from all the delays and promises HG made, you only have yourself to blame. Kudos to those who still found enjoyment in NMS regardless. Now with these consistent updates the game has become more fleshed out and is a fraction of its original price. The babies can continue to cry about Sean all they'd like, but it isn't going to stop people from enjoying this game. Stay mad, kiddos.

They have different star types that determine the types of resources available on planets, and what the planets themselves are like, (hot/cold/toxic/radioactive)

No fucking dipshit that actually ISN'T how it works.

Games heavily rely on the initial release, hype and marketing go a long way. As you can see by how everyone was confused about NMS because Sean is a dumbshit. Then the game came out and along with none of the 'p2p interactions' working, the game also sucked balls.

No amount of updating is going to make this game """popular"""

That's realistic. The metalicity of a star is an indicator of the componants of the nebula it formed from. More metalic stars will have more rocks and shit in orbit. Low metallicity will result in mostly gas giants.

multiplayer doesn't fucking matter, elite dangerous has multiplayer and its fucking meaningless

haven't touched the update yet but i fail to understand the desire to play space exploration games with random idiots. itd be cool to see other people in the universe, sure, but its not the end all be all (though i do get that murray lied about it)

>Shitty games are acceptable but only if I can show 60+ other people that I like shitty games!

What would multiplayer even do for this game? Would they actually add co-op mechanics or would it simply be single player that happens to have another person around doing the same shit you'd be doing in single player?

If NMS was released as a 20 dollar early access Steam game it would have been decently fun, unique, and even impressive. I'm impressed by these updates. There has never been a game more undeserving of it's 60 dollar price-tag, the fact that a low-budget, blatantly unfinished indie game was released at AAA prices is obscene

This is what is wrong with so called "gamers" these days.

A few hours isn't enough time to do shit in NMS. Maybe if you weren't so autistic you could actually progress in games. Instead you need to be spoon fed through right from the beginning because you have little to no attention span and/or patience.

Redownloading on PS4 right now. I don't even know what to expect anymore.

But all I can say is take your time and don't over think things, game is quite simple to be honest.

Well I don't know about now, but I'm sure it's not too different.

This is like a second birthday for me. Getting to see al the haters still trying to defend their past aggression is hilarious!

>b-but it still didn't have mp at release, so I can't ever forgive them

It's glorious. In today's age where everything is a disappointment and developers keep putting out shit after shit, and never seem to change it up, this is the one fucking time someone persevered, stepped up, and kept working on their game even when everyone gave up on them. Who else has done this? This game should be heralded as a true comeback on here. Instead it's the same shitposting threads and clamoring over best senran.

All the launch shit aside, this game is actually really enjoyable if you don't expect much from it. I'm not shilling, I just believe in giving things second chances.
