Almost. Things get released on the nightlies first it seems, then shortly after if everythings stable it goes onto steam.

For example last I checked the steam version was updated around mid July, but the latest nightly patch came out at the start of August

Believe it or not I had this exact problem a couple years ago. My best available option for a while was an old Dell desktop with a celeron and no graphics card but it could actually play original MnB. Even Diablo 2 ran kind of slow sometimes on that pc lol.

Alright, so it's not the same. Steam isn't Nightly then, the concept of Nightly means brand new and completely untested. Seems that Workshop is just tested/stable stuff.
That's good, I can safely go with Workshop.

I want them to implement a pre-battle formation order screen like other mods have before finishing things.

It makes things so much more user friendly. At the start of every battle I'm having to quickly smash buttons to select troops tyles, put them into formation, move them, select other troops, do the same with them etc. It's a pain.

Mods like Floris have a pre-battle screen where you can enter all the commands and they will happen automatically, it makes things so much more user friendly.

I loved Warband to death, played like 400 hours in 6 weeks but I just can't enjoy mods.

After conquering the whole map on vanilla when I launch a mod I feel like I'm playing the same game with just different skins.
