Pillars of Eternity really scratched this itch for me. Deadfire looks great, too. Looking forward to it.

Pillars of Eternity is literally a modern clone of Baldur's gate, and the white march expansion is set in "not icewind dale". I can't reccomend anything else really.

There's so much new (and good) CRPGs out there that I don't even know which one to play first. Of the ones I did, my favourites were Underrail, Age of Decadence, PoE (and Tyranny, get fucked /v/) and Divnity (albeit people overrate it).

Divinity Original Sin 2 will be what you're looking for, comes out november, has early access right now. First one isn't as good, but the fighting is fun.

isometric rpgs are shit. they were shit when they were popular and they are shit now.

Someone hasn't tried it. The feel is completely different from the first game. And the turn based fighting is fun as hell.

Oh yeah Neverwinter Nights 2 is kind of bad, but if you manage to get through it, the DLC Mask of the Betrayer is Obsidian's second best creation. It's more Throne of Bhaal-ish than normal Baldur's Gate though.

Just started BG2 (non-EE, installed from my old disks) because I got almost 400 hours in Pillars of Eternity and I think I'm done with it until Deadfire.
