they had one chance to bring gravity rush to consoles and get it right. they fucked it up. they barely improved the gameplay from the vita version at all, and actually made the gameplay worse by having worse missions, more stealth, and a world that was way too big for no reason with nothing interesting to find.

add in the missions that took place in closed corridors where the camera went absolutely spastic and the fact that everyone wanted to know what happened after gravity rush 1 and they only start answering those questions AFTER THE END CREDITS OF GR2 and you have a real fucking disaster that deservedly sold like shit and killed the series.

shame, because the original one was brilliant for a portable, but flawed. instead of fixing the flaws they just made them worse and focused on building endless side missions with shit mechanics that would showcase how cute Kat is

2 has some of the most excessive handholding I've ever seen in a game, it takes control away from the player to treat them like an idiot way too often.

When I got back to Heksville I just wanted to see how it's changed, instead the game forced me down several story missions before I could explore the areas I already unlocked in the first game.

I got bored with it after a few hours. It's pretty good for a short time though.

Not the same Anon, but the first game left a lot of things unanswered while the plot was pretty simple. Amnesiac girl with powers wakes up in a fantastical city beset by fantasy storms and creatures, falls into the role of a hero with the expected subplot of the government wanting to solve the crisis with TECHNOLOGY. The most complicated part were Creators but they were presented in a very down-to-earth way.

The sequel was all over the place. It has three unrelated plotlines - the fight to reclaim Jirga Para Lhao for its people, Hekseville's mad scientist and his doomsday plot, Kat's chapter and the end of the world. All these new rules they tried to establish with two kinds of Nevi, Elektricitie, Bit's wibbly wobbly powers, the McGuffin that turned Kali and Durga invincible. GR2's plot felt like an ADD kid chasing different story arcs with previous ones either unresolved or prematurely completed.

I loved GR2 but the story was easily the biggest letdown.

I can't agree.
I just started and I got to the busy city place after assing around in the mines, not too far in.
It's a pretty dull game.
I mean it looks great and I like the characters but the actual game part is trash.

I feel like it might be good once I get more abilities but having to suffer right now isn't fun, the gravity controls are clunky as fuck and the combat just seems to be spamming gravity kick. I don't understand what part of this is supposed to be fun.
But yeah Kat's a sexy waif and the game is comfy so 10/10 GOTY I guess.
