I disagree, I think it's just to doom 64 as doom 2016 is to doom 1 and 2.

A lot of people liked Doom 3 and there's still a small multiplayer community for it. I actually think the MP is better than VQ3 and the SP was enjoyable.

Really? That's shocking to me, I never got into the multi when it came out or after and didn't even know it was well liked.

I actually love the single player campaign in this game and think it has great atmosphere and art design. Still my favorite hell in a game.

Most people connect to the Sandwich Server which supports EMZ, a Doom 3 promod which is actually more robust than Quake 3 CPMA in terms of ingame customization for rules and HUD. That or one of the vanilla duel servers.

I also liked doom 3. I liked Duke Nukem forever also. They weren't great games but they were passable.

No it's less mobile than Q4 but has no railgun which allows for more aggressive plays unlike Q3's +back and rail style of play. The rocket launcher and chaingun are your bread and butter weapons like Quakeworld.

I play Q4, but I was more thinking about the rail-based gameplay, which actually requires thinking and strategy.

Doom 3 is alright a bunch of missed opportunities though and still better than the new game by a country mile, most people shit talk about it being slow but it's no slower than quake has ever been, try the mod that remakes the first episode of the original in with doom 3 assets and it becomes a whole different game
