Props for them not giving up on the game.
Still doesn't seem like it's worth the time.
>>
>>386833970
Sadly elitists will still shit on it no matter the efforts they do to fix what went wrong
>>

Whatever you say, Sean.
>>
meh i'll give it a go, friend bought it on GOG, gave me a copy and he said he'd give me the patches as they come out
>>
>>386834010
Well, they did kinda scam a lot of people and then went silent about it.
>>
>>386834010
I think it'll take more than just a few updates. It feels like the issue of the game is at its core.
I do find funny how before release we'd get shitpost after shitpost of defending it as the greatest thing ever without ever specifying anything and now it's the exact opposite.
>>
>>386833395
This is all nuce, but holy fuck, just make a player model already and have proper multiplayer.

Why are they so adamant to not have this? I mean it was never one of their (broken)promises, but you were suppose to be able to find other players, so just let mates fucking play together.
>>
>>386833395
y tho
>>
>>386834164
Still think they should've man up and given some bare-all interview, willing to answer honestly any question. That sort of silent treatment, even to those still willing to defend it, was fucked and fucked whatever chance they had of ever being seen in a positive light ever again.
They could make NMS the greatest game of all times throughout multiple updates but their community's loyalty is lost.
>>
>Shamelessly ripping off Stargate now
>>
>>386833573
calm down
>>
>>386834203
I don't think its the core of the game, and the updates have actually really added LOADS of shit.

Personally, its still not really for me, but I can see how people, after all the updates, could really really get into it now.
Still no proper multiplayer is dumb though...

I think its at its core because they're still nothing to do, it's all randomly generated. I can see it as just a relaxing fuck around experience but nothing more.
Maybe this sort of content just isn't for me, though.
>no multiplayer
You'd assume after the backlash they'd hire at least one dude to just quickly make the network possible for this. Why they keep ignoring it is beyond me.
Then again, they're fucking morons. They don't know how to respond to any criticism. All they respond to is the people who praise them like god devs.
>>
>>386833395
Well, after watching the trailer it looks like the game is finally starting to become more like what they originally advertised. Doesn't really show me anything that makes me want to play the again for, though. Spent maybe around a dozen hours playing the game after it was uploaded and cracked. Even with some basic mods to fix fucking odd design choices, the core collecting and world hopping was fundamentally lacking a sense of reward.

>With the Rise of Atlas comes the Rise of NMS once again
HAHAHAHAHAHA it's too late now. nobody cares about the game anymore aside from the devs and perhaps their small circle of friends
>>
>>386834203
The problem with NMS is that its a mighty cool concept and the procedural generation is an algorithmic hallmark.
But thats it. And both of those dont encompass what it takes to make a cool game, and its all NMS has.

Outside that and its cool aesthetics, its actual game design is like a shittier korean minecraft. Instead of taking in the magic of space you're busy grinding for resources and repetitive landmarks in very barren planets with not very interesting geological phenomenons. The surface of the planets themselves is pretty flat with some curves, bothing like mighty geysers, grand canyons or Giant molten mountains.

Any ship or freighter upgrades cost ludicrous of money you can only gain by partaking in the one and only role the game wants you to take part in : Space Trader. Its insanely boring and unrewarding. There is no ppssibility to branch out.

To fix NMS, not even multiplayer is needed. The game is designed around the literal go-fetch activity other games use as padding. In a game with such a mighty scale and possibilities, its a dissapointment and a shame within itself.

As it is right now, NMS is a worse Space Engine with fetch quests.
Despite that, I sometimes load up NMS to take in the wonderful vistas of space. Creative Mode remedies the tedium somewhat.

I still believe NMS can be amazing. But this game was handled horribly.
>>
>>386835083
Sony was supporting it so most likely.
>>
>>386834941
Well, they just said they added like 30 hours of story and shit in the trailer, so theres something to do.

As for multiplayer I ASSUME its probably gonna be one of, if not the last big update. even though the game is over the hill, they know people are still watching them, at least enough just to see what each update brings even if they don't play it.

So I think proper multiplayer will be one of the last things because then it will get a new bout of users, maybe even youtubers fucking around in it,

unless we have official source, then the claim is baseless.

To add, I now know Hello Games' spirit animal.
They're an ostrich from a Looney Tunes cartoon.
Any sign of danger, hide their head in the sand and wait for it to blow over.
>>
>>386835219
Since it was a sony excluse for like... days, sony handled the marketting of it.

so the nu male sky redditor marketers who do it for free are back?

Wow it actually looks pretty good.
Best of luck Hello Games, I honestly think you guys made an incredible engine, it was just missing the Game part.
I honestly wish they didn't get so raked over the coals, this was the dude's passion project that got way out of hand with Sony funding them all of a sudden

that's what overhyping the game like talking about features the game did not have. Like multiplayer

are people really that gullible to fall for it again? the comment section really makes me think why con criminals and fraudsters suceed so well in what that do in this world. The description was meant to be at launched day as promised yet people are starting to forgive and forget. Little red riding hood all over again..

So... is it out of beta yet?
>>
>>386836416
No. Rise of Atlas is phase 1 of three major updates, codenamed Waking Titan phase 2 and phase 3.

After those three are done, its most like that for better or worse, NMS is done.
>>
GOG when
>>
>>386833395
I'll buy it when It feature coop mode not some "ghost only" mode
