I'm looking for a game like Progress Quest but interactive.

I want something like that, but where I control the character, decide what to grind and actually do stuff, not just watch it do it for me. I want to grind, get levels, unlock stuff, get better and better loot etc..

In any case, many RPGs and JRPGs especially let you grind a lot.
Disgaea series is often regarded as one of the worst (or best, depending on how you look at it) cases of a grindan simulator.
