I haven't played the game but that sounds more like a positive than a negative. Obviously it's not trying to be some twitchy arena shooter. So, on paper a large area that keeps getting smaller sounds like the best way to handle it and is actually pretty clever imo. Or at least I don't know other games that do it like that.
Then again, I've only seen a few videos so I don't really know how it works usually.

Then why not play a game that involves more use of yoir skills? Why waste fps abilities in a game where you maybe get a couple chances to shoot? Why waste situational awareness on a game where listening is 98% of locating people?
Having fun despite flaws is fine and dandy, but don't pretend its some hardcore experience or something. It offers a unique opportunity to be #1 in a match of 100 people, which is a rush combined with the time investment you risk with each game. But its far from a well made game, in any capacity
