I mean the game literally tries to be like an episodic anime, it never tried to sell itself differently. Still it would benefit greatly from next gen enhancements.

The gameplay is also satisfying enough to worth a playthrough, if only they would give more reasons to replay levels and more difficulties.

It's actually a compliment. The gameplay is very, very simple even for a beat'em up.
Presentation is good sometimes but there are like 3-4 good moments and two of them are playable in the demo. Especially the parts without a boss are boring and far from satisfying.
Plot moves so fucking fast you don't even care what happens.
