>>
>>386827240
Every instance of svchost.exe is another user.

When you "log into" windows, you olen one instance of svchost.exe your your larticular username.

Of you see 2 svchost.exe, that means that there are 2 people or entities using that particular pc at a time.

This isn't abnormal, as usually, Microsoft will have "shadow users" running routines in the background to collect metadata, screengrabs and various telemetry that assists with collecting user data.

Anything more than 4 or 6 rumming, is usually bitcoin programs, utilizing your machine to decrypt cryptocurrency, seed torrents or assist with bruteforce/DDoS attacks.

cats don't always extend their claws to attack, they can do it when they're happy as a way to hold you, kind of like a person would hold your hand I guess.

whenever my cat is happy and sitting on my lap or in my arms he will slightly extend his front claws when he has his paws flat on me, kind of feeling like he's holding onto me and doesn't want me to let go.

it's really cute when he reaches his arms around you and does it. It makes me feel terrible that my first cat I had for 18 years was declawed, I wish we never did it, he had a lot of problems later on in life solely because of the declawing, not to mention he never got to be a real cat, couldn't ever really play.

There are several viruses that exploit the local network for further spreading, and those definitively escape if you networked the VM with your real network.
Also you could have a virus that is specifically crafted to detect it is on a VM and exploit a bug of it to get out, but most will be just by network fuckery.

Yeah, and they also split the process from ~10 stacks to dozens of individual entries earlier this year. It still looks wrong to have so many svchosts running, even when you know that it's how it is supposed to be.
>>
>>386826275
svchost.exe using a lot of resources might not always be ransomware or a virus.
most of the time when that happens it could be because of superfetch.
its the file indexing subroutine of windows that is responsible for making navigating the explorer and searching for files fasters.
the issue is the damn thing seems to spring to live at the most inopportune moments.
really grinds my gears. i wish you could schedule that thing or atleast do only partial fetches every time a section of a drive changed rather than indexing everything all over again.

>i have no issue running any older title on windows
Windows 10 actually uses a compatibility layer like Wine for all Win32 exe software (only actually supports UWP), but not quite as high quality for older games since their focus is primarily on legacy office software.
The upcoming Windows 10 S drops the compatibility layer and so only allows UWP software from the Windows Store to function and its likely this is the direction Windows is going as a whole.

Its entirely possible that games bottled up with Wine inside a UWP will become the preferred method of running legacy Windows games even on Windows in the same way that DOSbox has completely replaced Microsoft's own DOS compatibility layer.

Most viruses made by anyone worth their salt are designed to detect they are running on a VM and self-destruct to prevent any sort of analysis/disassembly. But yes, they can if they are set up to do that by exploiting bugs or exploits to escape the VM into the host system. It's why airgapping analysis machines is standard practice, even if it does breach containment it can't go anywhere.

Do you have a source for this because all of it sounds like bullshit, especially the implication that Win10S is the direction of Windows in the future when it's very clearly just a cut down version of Windows for school devices, just like Chromebooks had ChromeOS for students and schools.

Idk why i'm so bohtered by this anyway, it's just a website but like all/most forums no matter the subject, the community does have their little niche culture that everyone kind of bonds over and it's sad knowing that newcomers dont bother to take time and understand the community they're posting with.

A lot of sites have anti-adblock shit enabled.
There's a final fantasy wiki that will refuse to let you view anything with adblock enabled, and if you turn it off you get assfucked hard by ads, autoplaying videos and your entire browser will slow down and lag at a snail's pace.

Well, anti-adblock usually relies on JavaScript, and who would allow a random site on the net to run JS on his machine without explicit approval?

Sure, there are means to require JS in order to view the content, but usually that is easily circumvented by blocking the overlay, it's a giant mess, and I think Google punishes those sites' pagerank as well. so no one in his right mind would do that.

Whenever I hit a page with anti-adblock, I simply leave anyway and never come back.
I'm obviously not part of their target audience, and that is fine.
