When is the government going to crackdown on this shit?
Probably getting ready to go back to high school

You call brother?
Can we actually talk about the ataribox instead of just Wojakposting?
What do we know about it?
Why is Atari even re-entering the console race after all this time?
>>386803298
Waiting for more information.
Not going to waste time thinking about the Ataribox yet when we only have a render of what it could look like
>>386803431

>>386805970
probably because they saw micro$ is hurting hard and this is the perfect time of any to remove the shit out of their filthy methods.
>>386805970
I was thinking they could probably include every single classic atari game on it without much trouble
most of them are less the a megabyte in size
Time to take the Sonybros, PCbros and Xhoneheads to funky town.
>>386805970
We only know two pieces of information.
One is how it's supposed to look. Pic related.
Second is that it'll be able to play classic and modern "content." Of course, modern content can just mean mobile games from an android store or some indieshit, so that statement doesn't hold any weight just yet.
>>386806415
Looks kinda cool. I wish the top part was more true to the Atari 2600 look rather than some kind of heat vent, though.
If they were to make modern versions of classic games, what would you want and how would it play?
>>386806415
looks cool but
thats gonna be a bitch to clean
what will the controller look like?
>>386805970
>What do we know about it?
All we've got are rumors, speculation, and concept art.
I'd like to see them do well. But I've also heard that they plan on launching a crowdfunding campaign to gauge public interest. So that gives me some doubts about their current progress. The other piece of information we know is that it won't be an emulator only box like the Atari Flashback or NES mini.
Here's my best case scenario:
>launch their kickstarter and appeal to nostalgia
>feature original Atari programmers and Nolan Bushnell
>raise enough money and interest for a commercial release
>stall until 2019 with controller redesigns and launch software
>rasp pi 4 gets released
>slap it in a box a with a Atari overlay on the linux OS
>>386806569
>modern versions of classic games
Shit like Warlords and Yar's Revenge already got remade last gen on 360's arcade, and some remakes like Centipede Infestation were on Nintendo consoles. It has already been done before, it's just that people don't care enough about Atari games.
They'd have to take games like Swordquest or Dark Chambers and make real god tier modern rpgs out of them.
>>386807091
I mean, if they make say... a modern stealth game out of Berzerk or shit like that, it would be great.
Think outside the box a little I guess.
>>386804569Gimme a rundown on the bugs meme the pic made me giggle
>Its a fucking plug and play
Just kill me now funky brothers
>>386807224
I can definitely think outside the box, I just don't have faith that Atari can.
And even if they can think up something phenomenal, they're going to have a hard time executing half of it since Atari as a company is only like 10 people and AAA is expensive
>>386803298
>>386805871
Fuck off shills.
If you were actually Atari fans you would know that the company ceased to exist long ago and what's being marketed as Atari today has literally nothing to do with Atari of old.
>>386807374
True and consoles almost live and die off third party unless they are Nintendo
>>386807374
This. It's sad to say, but this will release, be bad, and then be forgotten

>what's being marketed as Atari today
There's nothing really being marketed today aside for a $10 mobile app and some t-shirts.
>>386803431
wrong, you have to be at least 25 years old to treepost
>>386807519
>>386807538
If they can partner up with a company like Amazon or Samsung that would take care of creating the hardware with competitive specs, and Atari themselves focus on funding exclusive projects from third parties while they acquire first party studios, they could stand a chance.
Atari alone don't have the resources for a current gen console unless they implode the company.
>>386803298
Worst thing about this forced lazy shit is it's a goddamn anacronism.
Disco was uncool by the late seventies, and Atari hit it big with young people mostly in the early 80's.
it'll be a flop, let go, Atarifags
>$20 reward tier
>Atari Headband (Red)
>>386807397
Look at this jive turkey. Atari is back baby, full force.
