Orphan was a real bitch for me, I didn't have much trouble with the other bosses only dying 3 times max to Ludwig and Laurence, but went through over 100 vials trying to fight the screaming retard. He became a lot more manageable on subsequent playthroughs as I realized that most of his attacks don't hit behind him, and are locked on once they begin. Second phase is harder as he

Well if you have the dlc and the game is night time (which it should be if you examined the skull after killing Amelia) you need to get the eye of a blood-drunk hunter in the hunter's dream (it should be on the ground somewhere).

Then in the Cathedral ward there's a specific area near the spawn point where there's a lesser amygdala that can grab you, you'll get warped to the dlc area if you have the eye (otherwise it just kills you).

The first area of the dlc is pretty big but the research hall is after Ludwig.

Someone else mentioned this before, but Bloodborne feels balanced around the idea you've already played a souls game. I can't imagine jumped straight into bloodborne and having a good time unless you're dedicated. I have played Demon's Souls and all Dark Souls games, and I'd say Bloodborne is probably the hardest. The early game is pretty difficult itself, and there is some hard as fuck enemies in the game, like those three hunters in the church. I still don't even know how to kill those huge whaleshark fucks.

Traps are pretty much all of its good level design, and Chalice Dungeon traps are usually way more obfuscated and are more rare so you're not constantly on your toes.
FRC Root dungeons gave me more "oh fug" moments and casted more fear into my heart than the rest of the series with certain enemy layouts like rooms with 5 ritekeepers or hotdog in oil lake or labyrinth madmen jumping the fuck out of smoke screens or a hall with a pig, two hemwick witches and a roaming HMPH.

I honestly feel like these two bosses are pretty overhyped. I played through the DLC for the first time on NG+, and they felt like average-slightly above average difficulty. I did have more trouble with Ludwig and Maria than most people seemed to though, so maybe it was just a playstyle thing. I started the trend of doing Chalice dungeons asap instead of waiting until endgame (which is what everyone used to do) after randomly getting a Cursed Gem drop and then figuring out I could have gotten there MUCH earlier. I called him Lumpy because he's a fat sack of shit and alliteration is cool (Lumpy the Lever guardian), as well as being influenced by a John Stewart Daily Show clip I was watching at the same time as shitposting.

Lumpy's gems caught on and even spread to other websites. But his triangle gemmed equivilant Clarence the Coffin guardian in Lower Hintertomb is mostly unknown, even on bbg. But he gets you nice Triangle 16.5% + 14.9 flat physical (or another secondary).

Ebrietas manages to get people because they don't fully understand the mechanics of the game. Yes, a lot of the time it's just preferable to tank the hit instead of trying to run away and get counter damage done to you. It sort of makes sense because of Bloodborne's "be aggro as fuck" playstyle but it should still probably find a way to explain it a little better

No, I've played both games to 100%, tried just about every build for both games. Dark Souls 3 is a total rollfest. Investing a tiny amount in stamina makes you pretty much invincible for 30 seconds at a time. That's absolutely not true. It only costs a tiny sliver of the bar to dodge in BB. Sure, it's much lower in DS3 than in the previous Souls games, but not nearly as low as in BB.
