Dark Souls 2 is a great game despite the noticeable flaws, in the same way a game like Dragon's Dogma is great.
The Dishonored series is great
Windows holds back PC gaming both in performance and innovation in much the same way that consoles do.
Final Fantasy XIII has the best battle system of all the games.

damn this is the worst taste in vidya I've ever seen
>>386788396
I agree. But I do not think this opinion will be unpopular for much longer.
>>386788396
You do Dragon's Dogma a dis service by likening it to Dark Souls 2
the OST remixes in Yakuza kiwami are better than the original.
>>386788805
this is not an unpopular opinion.

Well, when Linux can play everything and not just some things, I will switch over.
SJWs DID effect the vidya industry. the amount of identity politics and pandering devs go through when making a game is proof enough
GG was the focal point of all this and you guys end up flooding this board with it instead of derailing them. nowadays you guys just blame everything on /pol/ while everyone else just moved on with their lives
>>386790907
>nowadays you guys just blame everything on /pol/ while everyone else just moved on with their lives
I understood up until this point. What is the mistake people are making by blaming /pol/, since "people just moved on with their lives"?

>Dark Souls 2 is a great game despite the noticeable flaws
As someone who has been consistently on the side of those disappointed by DaS2, I have always nevertheless been baffled that anyone could ever argue that it was a truly bad game. People listen to /v/ contrarianism too much, and all of a sudden we're having arguments about which DaS game isn't total garbage, instead of acknowledging that each of them is imperfect, and that some flaws are just more significant than others.
I still really like DaS2, even though it will never compare to 1 for me. It's still a really good game that did exactly what a sequel should do in terms of iterating on existing mechanics in order to broaden gameplay.
The fact that this board is a place where you have to qualify this opinion as 'unpopular' is sad, though unsurprising.

blaming or pointing fingers instead of moving on or improving this board. then again, what can improve this shell of its former self

Not even Windows runs everything.
Windows 10 already runs everything that isn't a DX12 UWP through a compatibility layer, and upcoming versions of Windows won't run older software at all.
Depending on your hardware and driver older Windows software using D3D9 actually can run better and faster on Linux than on Windows.
The faster the industry switches to Vulkan and away from D3D the better off we'll all be.

/v/, /b/ (or, /pol/ as it is the same) and /tv/ are for low IQ posters and have always been. This board's always been pretty stupid.

The Metal Gear Solid series in pretty much irredeemable ass that people only remember fondly because they (Almost without exception.) got into the series as children and were too stupid to question what they were experiencing. I'll concede that it's appealing to people who are mentally underdeveloped.

I'm sure that's why we keep getting trump threads on /v/ in spite of the fact he has fuck all to do with video games
A post this dumb probably comes from someone trying to deflect from /pol/'s shitposting

this is a unpopular opinion because anybody with some shame would be fucking embarrassed to claim:

dumb ass. leave the thread.
>>386791946
bro, there have been way more than 4. You are not seeing deleted threads or something because 4 is not accurate.

you can see deleted threads in the archives. not this site's archive btw

SFV is better than SF4, SF4 took until ultra to even be decent, with the same amount of time and money invested into 5 it has the potential to become fucking killer
Watch_Dogs is a better game than GTA5
>deadlier, more tactical combat
>hacks (sometimes) allowed for great creative solutions
>being unable to shoot from your car actually made chases more interesting
>not obnoxious and self-satisfied
The city and its inhabitants were a bit more plasticky and hollow, but the gameplay was an order of magnitude better.
/v/ was better off demonizing and alienating casuals.

Picked up the 3ds port a few years ago after getting stuck in the fourth dungeon as a kid playing it and I have to agree. Games can get "legacy" points for being innovative and great at the time they were released, but looking at it now I can't understand how any one would put it over any of the other 3d Zelda's.

There a few 3D Zelda's I would say have very taste-specific hate/love, like WW and TP, the only really worse on being SS, but in almost every aspect I think Ocarina has been improved upon going forward. 2D > 3D though
>>386791093
Very interesting view, because I 100% agree that the game isn't truly bad and that I like 2 even though it will never compare to 1, but I couldn't disagree more about your reasoning. I think 2 is a good game by itself, but as a sequel it's an absolute failure.
It had absolutely no world design, which for myself and the many, MANY others who loved DS1 compared to Demon's so much due to the interconnected world and exploration, was by far the biggest disappointment. It also had much slower combat, which was by no means worse (it improved in many areas, like dual wielding), but was obviously a very different style from DS1, so it changed basic mechanics instead of expanding them. The atmosphere didn't have a tone even close to DS1, it was much more light, which again isn't necessarily bad, but it was different, and so it was another change that made the game worse as a sequel but not necessarily worse as a game. I could probably go on for hours about DS2, but those are the main things I have to say about it as a sequel. I think the main reason it's remembered the way it is, is because it was a shoehorned sequel made by a B team who had no experience with the original game, and so it will be thought of as a disappointing sequel rather than a good original game.
