I don't think that Overwatch really lends itself to deathmatch anyway. In Quake Champions, the biggest difference between champions is their stack; abilities really aren't shit in the game, and every character has access to the same weapons. Overwatch not only has the health/armor differences and is vastly more ability-dependent, but all the weapons and damage values are different. Movement abilities, too, are tied to character, whereas in Quake Champions everyone can strafe jump.

OW is just not made for a 1v1 setting, most hero kits are so one dimensional that you can't even fight at half the ranges available in 1v1.

How about fixing CtF first, it's a game mode that actually has potential to be good and could be put in Quick Match and Comp rotations if the dev team gave enough of a shit to make it playable. I do agree that the average OW player is absolute trash but Blizzard really made the maps kind of retarded. They removed healthkits to stop camping and hiding, but all that reinforced is a meta where people just pick self healing heroes and they play like even bigger pussies. Most 1v1 games end as a mei/soldier/hog mirror match, which says much more about the mode than the playerbase.
