Mr. House = Yes Man > NCR > Legion

NCR are the greatest hope for civilization going forward, but House also did nothing wrong and there's little reason to oppose his control of the Vegas area. Legion offers nothing that other factions can't but also does a lot of stupid, unnecessary shit, so they're garbage. Yes Man is not a character you side with. He's a character that facilitates the "I don't want to side with anyone" route.

I've been thinking. Normally I would say that NCR or house are the best, if flawed, options, but maybe in the long run Caesar's legion would work out. NCR has become bloated with bureaucracy and its current leaders are don't really care about their people and their existing territory as much as expanding as quickly as possible due to their greed. Kimball is the worst example of this, and the only reason his party has power is due to his popularity.

A legion victory would devastate the NCR army, but not the point where they'll crumble, not even close, and destroy Kimball's and the government's repuation, leading to a change in the NCR power structure and goals. Maybe it wouldn't change much, maybe it would overhaul the republic, but it would definitely be better than what they are currently doing. Hanlon becoming a leader, after getting his confidence back, would be the best outcome, or someone that actually cares about moving forward in the sciences and technology, and infrastructure, like Tandi.

I don't necessarily support the Legion, but I do find myself wondering about something that was obviously an intended difference between the NCR and the Legion.

Theres one NPC in the Legion fort who remarks on how trade is much safer and more lucrative in Legion territory because of how quickly and brutally raiders or rebels are dispatched. While the frontlines of Legion territory are obviously unadulterated bloodbaths, its easy to forget that miles and miles of distance across colorado are totally safe for caravans. The NCR definitely has issues with securing trade routes, so from one perspective you could say that having more Legion territory equates to more land where risk free and efficient trade and development can take place.

The obvious caveat is the widespread use of slavery, but then you have to also ask the question of whether the cheap labor actually pays off for the collective in the long run.

Overall I'm for House but I do think the Legion has some serious advantages over the NCR in the long run.

Pretty confident it is stated that near the Nevada border there are issues with raiders. For an in game example, there's always the Powder Gangers. Without the player's intervention the NCR are lame ducks who sit by and wait for the bureaucrats to make a call.

House easily. He was literally the only authroty in the Mojave and created a sustainable community focused on growth. House was the leviathan and justifies an absolutist political system of maximum security. He's autistically focused on utility and has no self interest aside from his preservation. He would've ascended mortality, thus becoming immortal and creating a city of God with a naturalistic system of ethics that would have spread beyond Vegas.

Caesar's legion would have been a facsimile of structure and the excessive violence is not sustainable long term. Yes-Man is beyond retarded.
