it's a shame how far MS has fallen.

The Wii had a great UI too.

I almost like the PS3's interface but I can't believe you can barely organize your games

So what happens when you fill the 4 screens with games? Does it make more screens or are you fucked?

Yeah, actually. My PSOne was the only CD player I had when my portable one broke.

They improved the UI for the PSOne, though; pic related. The reverb filters were actually pretty cool.

PS3 XMB is still the most elegant and simple. Too bad the PS3 hardware was holding it back. Once you fill up the hard drive, the OS becomes laggy.

This makes me unhappy. As for favourite I have to give it to the GC as it was simple, had a neat menu style, when you put in a game it had a picture and a little description about the game, and the music was haunting yet so relaxing. Second place would be the PS2 for the background ocean, you could leave that shit on at night and fall asleep to it.

I don't fucking get it. Sony literally perfected the media interface with the XMB and even won awards for it. Microsoft even started partially copying them with the NXE, so I was hoping the entire industry would trend toward this type of interface.

And then they just threw it all away and both Sony and Microsoft went full retard with their designs. The current PS4 interface is serviceable, but the current Xbox One interface is a complete fucking mess.

These two are god-tier as fuck, I love the minimalism. The Switch is also snappy as fuck, it really helps. Shame the PS4 ditched XMB
I'll mention the PSP's XMB since its pretty much the same shit with a different font, & also shame that the Vita ditched XMB as well for M&M's UI

I have the same HDD setup/situation and I don't get any lag. It could just be a per-game basis, since I know some games have a harder time exiting to XMB than others.

I agree that the store does suck, though, and it's a shame because the original store design DIDN'T have issues. I was so mad when they "upgraded" to this piece of shit.

I geniunely think the best thing about the 3DS, Wii and WiiU are their OS's. They're extremely fucking comfy yet very intuitive, and there's really something about loading them up that's unique to the console
