FFXIV is pretty much a better looking WoW made by japs. The game is your typical MMO end game of grinding dungeons and raids for gear. PVP is ok, but more of an afterthought no matter how hard square tries to push it. FFXIV really excels in its world and has some good story bits but is a real fucking slog at first.

Went back to Maple a month ago-ish, lvl 220. For those not in the know, that would have taken a year or two back in the good ol days.

Still, the game has made improvements and is not stuck to some nostalgia. The bad news is nexon is still inept and the game is both inflated in some parts(DAILIES) and underused in others(EXPLORATION, COMMUNITY).

Do this and make sure you hit level 35, 1-30 is a trap to make you think the game is good.

I trialed up to level 28 and had fun, so I bought it. Turned out I was 2 levels away from hell. Once you hit 30 the mandatory story quest goes to shit and the fun I had from level 1-30 was over. I haven't made it to 50 yet but I hear it gets a million times worse so I don't even have the drive to level anymore.

The lvl 50 dungeons were a lot of fun for me and heavensward was really interesting with the flying mechanic.
The game only starts on lvl 50 when you close the story of ARR and go through the patches fighting the primals, at least for me.

You should also buy heavensward before you read lvl 50 so you can continue to get xp with the story quests. Even if they provide little xp, you can get up to lvl 52 I believe.

The dungeons start ramping up INTENSELY.
The biggest slog, however, is the endless chain of main story quests at 50, certainly the shittiest point of the story. Recommendation: buy the level 50 jump potions, watch cutscenes at the inn if you want, and start at Heavensward, where the story gets 300% better.

However, the last big update removed the necessity to walk to each npc and lets you skip the dialogue, and there's a new mode that lets you play all the main story missions one after the other without having to go back to town. Hit submit before I was done with my post like an idiot. With the old TSW, though, 4 weapons would be tough early on but definitely possible once you get through the first couple zones. By the time I hit the third zone, I had unlocked enough abilities with a third weapon to try a new build out, but it really depended on how deep in the ability tree the abilities you want are.

From what I played it looked like the same thing applied. In Legends, I had the active abilities I wanted by the time I finished up Kingsmouth and I was working on getting some decent passives. I'm sure by the time you finish New England you'll have the abilities you want for 4 weapons.

At the last quest of 3.0 because I'm waiting for my friends to catch up. Currently have Dragoon and Astrologian at 61, Paladin, Dark Knight, and Red Mage at 54, and started leveling up Monk.

i dunno why, but the cutscenes in gw were always so broken. my characters voice changes genders for half the cutscenes.

But that's one of the few things thats bugged I've found, and probably the least important.

I subscribe on and off to wow. It’s just so comfy and addicting to me and feels so good to play.
Granted I can’t stay subbed for the entire just to keep it a little more fresh for myself.

I do enjoy the challenge of paying for sub time with gold too. Although at times that’s more or less challenging. Right now it’s not so hard.

I bought Black Desert for about 10 bucks.
I'm trying to like it, but it barely seems like an MMO.

After I got over how it's pretty much a multiplayer game full of single player content, I started to like how I can play it as a trade sim. I have a witch with a kickass wagon and workers to haul trade goods back and forth.

It would be way better if the tentacles didn't launch enemies out of the ability radius when you cast it. Defeats the entire point of Tentacle Swarm when it just blasts half the enemies in the radius away from where you cast it.

His first ability used to be better too when it's radius was affected by power range instead of how now it's just the explosion radius of the projectiles. You used to be able to toss on Narrow Minded for negative range, providing focused damage in a relatively small, yet decently sized area. Think of it like tightening the spread of a shotgun. More damages, and with the high duration, you could drop multiple instances of it all over the place, as well as shred armor with the augment for it.

Now, the barrage does jack shit for damage and is only good for knocking down enemies IF they get hit by a missile.

I found it hard to take this show seriously just because there weren't a billion characters with the exact same build as the female MC running around. If this were a really game almost everyone would play Assassin or Swashbuckler because they have high weeb appeal.
