Vidya hardware got stronger and stronger, and more methods of input were implemented, yet
there's fewer vidya genres then ever. Why is this?
idk
Niche genres don't make enough money to keep big publishers happy when they could just churn out more FPS or sports games.
Because video games take too much time and money to produce so they have to be in the most popular genres and created and marketed in a way to reach as wide audience as possible.
The age of vidya genre experimentation is over for consoles. This shit only exists for low budget indie devs now. Because indie games are massively stereotyped, they're never truly recognized when some of them pull some innovative stuff.
It's only when a indie game sells a lot that people take notice, like PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds. Now AAA devs will copy the formula.
We already have all the genres we need. Don't need anything else bloating the market.

Don't be mad at Shinjiro, Gemini. I was the one who commanded him to walk into the hot spring despite his best judgment.

I wonder how rare my sealed copy of Sakura Wars V is.

Sakura Taisen 6 when?

I liked how Shins didn't default into a pervert unless you made him. Instead he was polite.
Also the fact there will never be a sequel to this breaks my heart. I liked all the characters a ton, even the trap and loli

There are plenty of genres, but it seems (to me) that AAA studio games are emulated by other companies, so that you have large but few general genres which dominate the market. Thankfully, more niche/new subject material genres are popping up from smaller, more independent studios, but imo, I haven't seen anything that really breaks the mold in a while.

quick, list every possible video game genre and relate it metaphorically to a real input method supported by the human body

Pretty much. The actually innovative games are intentionally kept as low budget releases where having the title fold doesn't hurt the finances too much.
