far cry was released to hold us over until doom 3 which held us over until half life 2 which then we realized that doom 3 sucked dick and half life 2 was the best of the 3. But now far cry is the best out of the 3

FEAR, UT2k4 and Sin Episode: Emergence are all way better and more relevant.

I loved Doom 3, of course Half-Life is the classic of the era, and Far Cry has always sucked as a series.

Doom 3 aged a lot worse than Farcry and HL2 (even ignoring the engine updates).

I enjoyed Doom 3 when it came out but I tried replaying it a few months ago and I had to give up one hour in. It's slow, clumsy, the weapons feel lame and it doesn't even look good anymore.

Farcry 1 was great but the AI was incredibly frustrating. I think HL2 is overrated but overall it holds up pretty well.

I kind of rushed the beginning, after all I knew what to expect. I gave up shortly after getting the shotgun and remembering how shitty it was.
