It's definitely better than overwatch gameplay-wise, it's still mediocre game though beacuse they decided to make it similar to overwatch so in the end it's still the same shit of "everyone has a flashy ability that kills everything around you and requires aboslutely no skill, you just have to wait for the cooldown to end", at least they made it at least a little bit fast so it actually requires some skill.
It's still quite mediocre though, mostly beacuse they tried to copy overwatch, also it's way too fucking edgy.

Because it's garbage. I played two matches in the alpha early this year and immediately uninstalled. Literally just a bad Overwatch clone, and Overwatch isn't good to begin with.

All those kinds of abilities still require positioning, aiming and timing to be used effectively otherwise you'll just waste it or get shut down. Hell even then plenty of characters have have abilities and defenses that can wreck your ult anyway.

I think it is too early to say.
Siege after few years managed to get on top 10 played games on Steam.
Or recently released Rising Storm 2, which had quite strong launch for such niche game, 24k people at it's peak, now playerbase keeps shrinking. In meantime, Day of Infamy, which started not too well, 100-300 people playing at the same time for first 2-3 months, now it's gradually getting more and more populated, that you'll see 550 players at it's worst nowadays.
