If companies do what Playtonic is doing with Yooka Laylee and taking six months to release the game, people aren't going to be interested in them... specially when the games are pieces of shit. Now if Playtonic actually makes the Switch version good, it'll make up for the others being ass. But we all know it'll suck.

Ok. Well, as someone who's beaten Zelda on WiiU, I can tell you that I honestly didn't like it, I certainly wouldn't buy a console just for it. However, you should form your own judgement.

My advice to you is, try to buy a WiiU for cheap, and hack it. It had a much better library than the Switch does, and will have for the next two years given the announcements. Especially too, since most the current WiiU lineup is made up of WiiU games. Not only that, but a hacked WiiU is the ultimate emulation console, much better than the Switch will ever be. WiiU can play every Nintendo game, ever from NES to WiiU, as well as all the portables, and it can play them as they're meant to be played. Wii games can use Wiimote, DS games can have dual screen with touch, GCN games can be played with the GCN controller, etc... The Switch will never be able to do those things, even when hacked.

Pokken, Mario Kart, and Zelda are all on WiiU.

And you're able to play Splatoon 1 and XCX so you can make up your mind about buying the sequels or not. Same for Mario, Odyssey seems to have similar physics to 3D World, so the gameplay feel will be similar.

WiiU's online is also free, and still lively. I'm able to hop on Smash 4 and find a match in no time. Oh, and Smash 4 has mods too, which will soon include character mods.

So that leaves on Pokemon and Metroid, of which, I'd say to wait on footage. Sun and Moon were terrible, and Prime 4 isn't made by Retro. So think of how bad Other M was.

I think this should hold you off well till the Switch gets a beefier library, and the inevitable price cut + hardware revision.

As a PS4 + WiiU owner, I personally don't feel like I'm missing anything out, and for like, less than the price of the Switch you can get a much better console. Imo, there's no real point in getting one right now, you'll just get burned.
