Did anyone ever play this? Is it any good?
Pretty mediocre, but simple fun action platformer. I remember having an OK time with it.
The "soundtrack by the Surf Coasters" is a lie, though. There's only one song by them, the intro theme which also plays in motorcycle scenes.
Oh and the voice acting is hilariously bad. Musashi sounds like Nelson from Simpsons who tries to be serious.
Nomura's character design is off the fucking charts.
Being an actual Miyamoto Musashi buff, it's almost offensive.

Was pretty good but not anywhere as good as the original. Soundtrack and visuals were top tier though.
I wish I could replay it but it doesn't emulate well...or at all really.

How did you feel about Brave Fencer Musashi? :^)

It's a really fun 6/10. The bosses, music, level design, and visuals are great, but the voice-acting is below sub-par, and the combat (including movement) is sluggish.
The saving grace of the latter is that battle revolves around a "copy" ability, where you sort of have to parry an enemy at the right time, and when you do, you gain their skill.
There's about 5 weapons in the game. Your regular sword, and then an accompaniment of bigger swords--fire, water, earth, wind, and a boat oar, all with special abilities but otherwise playing the same.
If you can get this game on the cheap, then it's worth visiting and seeing if you can enjoy it, otherwise I'd pass up on it.
It's a shame, because with some polish, this game could be part of the cuhrazy genre that everyone here loves.
