It's been my favorite vidya franchise since 1998. I went back and played all the older ones, and then even emulated Kojima's other games that I never got to try (Policenauts/Snatcher ect).

1, 2, 3 are golden. MGS4 was fucktarded but at least it was a finished product. Ac!d 2 was amazing (ac!d 1 sucked), PW was a ton of fun if you had friends.

MGSV had the makings of something mag-fucking-nificent, but it was clearly not ready to be put out. Felt like we were missing like 25% of the story and game.

I think as a fan, it's time for me to let go of the franchise. The real divide now will be between the fans loyal to the visionary behind the series (Kojima), or the pachinko shilling rights holder of the franchise that are actively trying to fuck over their ex employees (Konami).

Anyone who supports a Metal Gear game coming out from Konami at this point is a Pariah.

It's actually really good, but takes itself a bit more seriously than Snatcher does.

Between the two, I feel Snatcher has more memorable moments. But the story of Policenauts is pretty interesting if you like that AD Police vibe.

I enjoyed them when I was younger, but the story and characters now feel cringy and it isn't that good gameplay wise.

I'd rather play Hitman or Splinter Cell.

No in the first game Big Boss trained Solid Snake and is his commanding officer during the Outer Heaven invasion. He begins giving him false info at the end of the mission when Solid Snake becomes too successful and eventually discovers he's giving him orders from within Outer Heaven.
Solid Snake shoots him full of rockets, puts C4 on Metal Gear, and the whole fucking place blows up

Absolute shit series. I've played all canon games, I follow every thread and story discussion and thoroughly read through countless wiki entries just to remind me how much I dislike this series.

MGS1 was okay.
MGS2 started out good, went down hill at Big Shell, and went full retard at Arsenal Gear
MGS3 was a refreshing experience after the mess known as MGS2
MGS4 was a narrative mess because it was trying to tie/explain all the loose ends (most of which were caused by the mess known as MGS2's ending sequence)
MGS5 was okay. Good gameplay, crappy open world meme and a story that pretty munch amounts to nothing

I like the series.

MGS1 was pretty fucking great
MGS2 was a game that I hated for baiting me with Raiden. But I was 11 years old and all the redpill shit went over my head.
MGS3 is still my favorite. Best locations, best story, best feel.
MGS4 was a fun interactive movie. I did like the part on Shadow Moses, and the fistfight against Liquid.
MGS5 had the best gameplay of any MGS, but the story felt hamfisted. Later on I heard they cut the whole Liquid shit. I mean what the fuck why.
