Nah. First one was insanely fun until the grind hit me. About a third of the way through you get to bosses that require insane amounts of grinding because the AI party members are retarded, like indescribably retarded. I did every boss solo because my team would just fucking die from massive aoe spells and there's no way to make them get out of it.

Everything else is great, but it's a video game, so if the gameplay is shit it doesn't matter.

Nope. Higgledies are the replacement and are basically pikmin. You can assign 4 types (the ones shown so far are neutral, wind, fire and water higgledies) and in art there's light and dark ones. I'm not how else they'll expand on their numbers.

DS Version was the original (the Black Djinn). In it, Pea is never mentioned (you just find a magical stick) and you just get sent back in time and find a powerful wand rather than all the shit with the zodiac guys. Game ends after Shadar, at which point Oliver just dies with him.

PS3 version adds the white witch story.

A lot of stuff is just holdover from the DS version. Like all those useless spells the fairy godmother gives you? it's because in the DS version you actually had to draw the spells and they gave you a bunch of fluff ones to be more confusing.

I'm looking forward to it despite not having played the first. My only issue from the footage I have seen (especially the E3 raw gameplay ones) is that the screen turns into a real clusterfuck in fights.

You got random patches of different colored pikmin, a large enemy casting aoe spells and attacks, spell effects going on, attacks and 3 party members all doing their own thing and the background volcano spewing lava both as a visual and on the arena to avoid from the boss fight demo I saw.

Higher resolutions, anti aliasing, texture filtering, 60fps patches, even adding ambient occlusion to games that didn´t have it is a thing now.

You didn´t demonize emulators like a lot of console fags, yes, but you still completely missed my point. I could easily play Ninokhuni 1 on my ps3 (I do own one) but I prefer to wait a bit longer to enjoy this game with better graphics and so are most people emulating newer games.

I genuinely enjoyed the first and it was the first JRPG in a long time to really captivate me. The atmosphere alone was incredible.

Absolutely getting the second one. Bit disappointed by the design of the main character but I'm sure that'll be easy to move past.
