Rance is similar in that both MCs are dirtbags with godly luck, although Rance is like Kazuma turned up three notches in every department. I wish there was a game that really lets you experience the building up of fame and wealth, banter and interaction between party members, liveliness of city hubs and dungeon crawling that isn't just grab the quest item and go. I honestly feel like only an MMO could really depict that and maybe only RuneScape or prime WoW got close.

It works surprisingly well making Aqua a Cleric/Monk and Kazuma a Rogue/Wizard or Sorcerer

I did the same in Etrian Odyssey 4, suffice to say, the game is extremely hard this way.

Kazuma is a regular warrior with basic skils
Darkness is a fortress who doesn't attack and only casts magic to attract enemy attacks to her.
Megumin is a mage, who only uses Fire Magic (once a day)
Aqua is a regular healer though, and sometimes attacks.
