You know, if you want to compare on gameplay alone, I'm actually going to say Paladin has this one. TF2 has 9 classes with average 2-3 builds defining weapons. Paladins have 30 champions with 3 build defining legendaries each, a 5 card loadout and 12 more items they can buy in a match. Objectively there are more gameplay desicions to make before you get into a fight in Paladins and I think almost every other competitor. Closest I can think of is Gigantic but you only upgrade skills in game.

TF2 is the opposite of seriousness and that is, imo, an important ingredient for video gaming. Victory, defeat, reward... meh TF2 doesn't give a duck bout those. There are hats, physics, taunts and serverbrowser. That's the sh!t. TF2 is fun, that's why they don't need anything else to work.

Overwatch has neat engine, nice background and marketing, the artistic direction is noice, and it plays well. I just think it's a lazy game, it could do better somehow. But it's effective enough.

Paladins' core to me is the deck system and legendary cards which can transform your way of playing each character. I love that idea of customizable gameplay. Also the customization of skins. Hirez has good potential here, but the game is a bugfest, litterally. THey should stop with the content and fix sheit.

All-in-all, all 3 games are good somehow, I think the weakest is OW, but it's well presented. TF2 is pure fun without modern deadweights, and paladins has gameplay layers to explore. That's it.

Kinda-I don't know if it's dying or not. Steamcharts show that the Steam population has stagnated and stopped growing. But the majority of the population don't use the Steam Launcher.

Smite also has the advantageous position of being the only MOBA on consoles, so there's that to consider too. It's definetly not at it's peak though.
