Dark Souls 2 has durability degradation directly tied to your frame rate.

It also has the worst hitboxes in the series.

And your invincibility frames on your roll are tied to a stat.


This alone is enough to make it inferior compared to any other in the series.

2 had more overall content, but the quality of all the content was pretty low.
3 was better in every way except for longevity.
Hell, it wasn't even a short game. 20-30 hours at least of consistently good levels and bosses.
2 had 40-50 of a lot of "meh" to "ugh" levels and bosses.

DS3 lacks a lot of new ideas, it playsit way too safe. DS2 feels the opposite because it does some real fucking retarded things.

I don't like the bosses in Dark Souls 3. The pontiff was aight. Dancer will stay with me for the wrong fucking reasons. In general I think they were pretty boring. I mean come on, every boss has to have a phase 2? It wasn't interesting. I know 2 had pretty much objectively worse bosses but I just didn't have as much fun in 3.

Covenants suck in both.

pvp in 2 was almost as good as my nostalgia for the first one is. None of the retarded meta golem shit from 1 and none of the light spam from 3.

god my go to for the series was str/fth my first run of 3 was str with some useless fucking stay bc miracles blow. Having to do Merle builds is a big issue I think a lot of people ignore. This isn't bloodborne i shouldn't be forced to play it like it is.

Speaking of which, the ability to role play in 2 was the best in the series, hands down. Loved replaying 2 as every time a new build was fun and satisfying.

I also enjoy what they did with the lore in 2 a whole lot better. 2 felt fresh. 3 felt like a rehash with fan service.

The dlc set for 2 was also great. It was shit but it was super great, which goes for the whole game.

Again I have the bias of being tired of the series by the time 3 came out, but damn if I didn't have a much better time with literally every other game in the series.
