I've played 3 hours and beaten 2 bosses on the hardest difficulty, unless you suck real ass, you won't die a lot. It's not even near the difficulty of Dark Souls. Enemies will attack you at the same time if there's more than 2, then it becomes intense.

I noticed that corruption refreshes at certain parts of the game. I also had it reach my shoulder, and it never moved past it. It raises the tension though, and I like it. But once you figure out it is just fucking with you, you lost that feeling and don't care as much anymore.

For a game that is clearly trying to go full on psychological ragnarök with blood eagles and all kinds of spooky norse shit, it is a sensible design choice. Hate to break it to you animu virgins out there but women without makeup and face cream really aren't that pretty. A woman living in that time period would in all likelyhood after malnutrition, exposure, and daily beating from hubby be kind of ugly. If you want to fap to videogame characters go play DoA, otherwise just enjoy the game.
