The thread for all things RE.
What's the most recent RE game you've completed? Did you like it?
Are there any RE games you plan on finally getting around to playing?
Who are the characters that deserve to be in new games, and why are they Raymond, Sheva, and Josh?
re is boring and if you get scared by video games you're a brainlet
only good re is 4

Played 7 again. I wish madhouse had the option for randomizing the item location. I seriously don't get how not one RE has tried randomizing item locations yet.
One more question I have: Why did Resident Evil become so popular lately on /v/? I don't believe that RE7 made it super popular all on its own, because now we have daily RE threads where the only references to RE7 are people debating how much it deserves to be called Resident Evil.

Answering my own questions:
1. Most recent completion is Revelations 2. I enjoyed it quite a bit, more than the first game, but I hated the ending. It also needed the co-op partners to hold guns, as is it just felt like an addition that didn't have to be in the game.
2. I'm starting REmake, but I really want to play RE2 when it drops in HD.
Completed RE2 the other day
Was really cool but the final boss was kinda disapointing
It was also pretty linear compared to RE1 but really liked it
Is it worth replaying in other campaigns? I only played LeonA I think

Code Veronica X HD
Code Veronica is better. X added matrix Wesker thus steered the series towards action.
>>386676379
>I only played LeonA I think
That was not the final boss senpai. Go for scenario B. It adds a shit ton of new stuff
>>386676262
As much as some dont want to admit it.
RE7 brought back interest to the RE series.
A lot thought RE was dead by 6 but to a big chunk of the fanbase it saved the series and brought hope to seeing the true classic days of fixed cameras.
People are interesting in the series again knowing horror is back and we all went to see what's going to come next.
>Character shits themselves over a single zombie in a cutscene
>Been sidestepping them for hours
>>386676379
>>386677725
Don't forget when you play the second scenario, you have to start by loading your completed LeonA save file, not by simply starting a new game, that'll just make it the ClaireA scenario, not B.
Again.

>Who are the characters that deserve to be in new games, and why are they Raymond, Sheva, and Josh?
You forgot Jessica Sherawat.
>>386676003
Haven't played any recently, but I do have the urge to replay REmake. Wouldn't mind Moira in a new game.
>>386676262
Revelations 2 has 2 endings. Depending on if you let that girl touch a gun or not.
>>386679113
>>386676003
I played RE:Gaiden and it crashed on my phone just during the last fight. I like it a lot.
>Yfw
>>386676003
I completed 5 recently thought it wasn't that great at first but when you fight Jill onward it got pretty decent.
I want to finish Rev 2 and 0.
Jill and Leon deserve to be in new games.
>>386679180
You can't be serious.
I'm not even mad that I got the bad ending, I'm mad that an ending this garbage actually made it into the game.
>>386676379
LeonA/ClaireB isn't even Canon
Once you finish ClaireB go on with ClaireA/LeonB
>>386676003
I most recently finished RE3, I loved it as it is my favorite game of all time, I replay RE 1-3 every couple of weeks because they are just so fucking good,
I would at some point like to get around to playing through the outbreak games but the teammate ai is just ass.
Finally took the time to finish RE4 on Pro on the Xbone, because it was bothering my autism that I was missing an achievement and it was fucking hell. Getting one-shotted by almost everything was fucking stupid.
I hope to one of these day play through the Outbreak series, since I didn't have a PS2 growing up, so I never got to play them when they were new.
Jake and Barry's daughter (Can't remember her right now) need to be in a game together.
not a hero when dammit
>>386680256
Her name is Moira.
>>386676003
>Who are the characters that deserve to be in new games, and why are they Raymond, Sheva, and Josh?
fucking nobody, brand new characters for every game please.
>>386676203
RE3 sorta did that, it chooses from like 3 different item/enemy placement setups whenever you enter a new area.
>>386680658
I bloody loved that in that game. When your game is completely fucking linear that's what you do to spice things up.
Replaying RE3 here.
Got to the part where you first fight Nemesis but I keep dying.
I can't tell if I just suck or if its because I don't have strong enouth weapons.
I know you can just run but I want to fight him.
Should I just save fighting him for NGP?
>>386681792
If you are talking about the fight right after he kills Brad, than it's just a real pain in the ass to do unless you're playing on easy, you will need to knife and a good understanding of the evade system.
>>386681792
Downing Nemesis is legitimately hard when you're not playing on easy. You just have to learn his pattern and master the dodge manoeuvre. The first time you fight him if you've been conservative with ammo, you should have just enough to take him down if you make sure every shot hits.
>>386679908
You have to assume control of her and save Claire at the end of that one boss fight to get the good ending.
>>386682124
>After dying a bunch I managed to down him using almost all my shells.
>Think he's down.
>He suddenly gets up despite going down.
>Kills me.
>MFW.
>>386679901
Did you play 5 solo?
I've only played it co-op and honestly I love it as much as I love RE4.
I was recently mulling over a way to do a pacifist playthrough of RE3 but I hit a brick wall at the Clocktower fight. I don't think there is a way to not physically attack him and win it.
>>386682296
yeah, if you decide to fight him it's always two nemmy rounds, you need to plan ahead.
or just run.
>>386682369
Isn't that and the final fight the only time you actually have to fight him?
>>386676203
Wasn't there a port of Resident Evil 2 that had an option for randomised item locations? I think it was the Dreamcast version.
>>386682559
If you mean the fight before the rail cannon then yeah. I thought the acid faucets would damage him but I was wrong, so that fight is also required.
>>386676095
Finally someone who got his shirt together
>>386682296
If you're feeling ambitious you could try knifing him to death so you don't waste any ammo and get the items he drops.
>>386681792
>shoot until hes about 2m from you
>run past his non attacking arm and see him miss a hit
>repeat
>???
>profit
Hey this isn't really an RE question.
But I'm playing RE3 on dolphin .
I was wondering can I play Parasite Eve and is it worth playing?
>>386683763
>RE3 on dolphin
mistake.
>>386683763
>re3 on dolphin

>>386683793
Its a bit broken.
(Item in my innovator don't show up till I hover over them.
Plus the sound sucks but it still works.
>>386676003
Started RE6 with kb/mouse. Gave up before the first chapter ended.
Half an hour of forcibly walking with no tense whatsoever. Get to to the garage and game decided to shit itself and freeze the entire computer. Go back into it and I have to restart from the start. Another half an hour of pressing W. Get some action, QTE everywhere, using the menu is fucking horrific.
Might go back whenever I get a controller and if I'm bored out of my mind.
