it's the 2nd best I've owned out of SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox HUEG, 360, PS4, Wii, and Wii U. I really like how hacking it lets you put on almost the entire nintendo library up to Wii U and XCX unexpectedly became one of my favorite games of all time.

Most of the exclusives were forgettable and it didn't even have third party surport. As for someone who bought the system back in 2013 for $350+$60 warrenty, I feel scamed. Jokes aside, I think Hyrule Warriors is pretty good, had lots of fun with it, but the sub 30 fps really tanked the overall enjoyment for me. Maybe if it could be emulated 60fps (doubt that because native is 30fps anyway afik), then I would get back into it.

It was completely and utterly pointless when the AES existed. Cheaper (poorfag reasons don't matter anyway), sure, but also complete garbage. The load times and shit library killed it. It only had maybe 10 games that weren't on the AES, and none of them were anything worth playing except maybe Samurai Spirits RPG, which wasn't exclusive to the NGCD anyway. If you think the Wii U was a pointless intermediate system between the Wii and Switch (which it is), the Neo Geo CD makes it look like a good system.

For obvious reasons I didn't play it but I loved Story of Thor on the Mega Drive, one of my fave games from 16 bit era, even if it was veeery short. If I remember well it had a weapon system similar to Breath of the Wild (a lot of weapons to find but they broke fast) and the puzzles with the spirits were fun, but easy.
