But things are changing, it's a slow process but we're already witnessing this with sequels like Watch Dogs 2, Assasin's Creed Unity and Syndicate, Titanfall 2, Deus Ex MD, new CoD, Dishonored 2 to name a few not be able to hit better sales than their predecessors.

Splatoon 2 on the other hand is an overhyped expansion pack getting passed off as a sequel to sell Switch consoles.
