Seems fine to me for a game that just came out. Wraith might be a bit too strong at the moment, or at least yesterday I had games were three or four people played them. Today I didn't see that many, but I only played for around six hours so I can't really judge the balance that well. I guess the zero grav thing is subjective, but I hardly see that as a flaw considering the verticality it provides is one of the bigger catches of the game, it allows you to go fast and high. Comically enough for games with regen life , knee high cover and a slower pace Gears pulled everything off as well as it could have in 1/3. Gears 3 has great weapon balance and maps and it surprised the hell out of me.

Thinking of refunding, I still haven't completed the two hours. The armored robot is fun but everything else is lacking as fuck. It's not as fast as they say, maps are cramped and tiny, all of them are corridors and such. Just like Overwatch. The difference is that Blizzard is behind OW.

Because Tribes and Lawbreakers play very differently. Tribes is more open with larger scale maps. LB is more confined but gives the player more diverse (word of the day) classes and lots of tools to consider. While Tribes makes me go faster, I feel LB forces me to make more decisions during battles.

I like all the games listed here as better but i'm finding something fun about Lawbreakers. It's OW but done right, if you've ever wonder what would OW be like if it wasn't predictable as fuck every match. Still the numbers are low and has no dedicated servers to speak of.

They even fucking made the "doubletap dodge" a button (shift+direction) and makes the game SO MUCH BETTER and FAST. Dodging proyectiles and sliding to explode people is incredibly fun, and the UE4 tech makes it run smooth as fuck like never ever i've seen Unreal tech work.

No they don't. Most of the ults don't do enough damage to kill, they also can have drawbacks, and you would do more damage overall just by landing shots normally. For example, Vanguard's lets them do big AOE attack but it requires you to fly up in the air and do a 2 second stationary charge first. Which is a big deal when you're playing a 325 HP class that survives by going fast and killing people before they can kill you.

Or like Titan's which gives them 500 extra hp and gives them a super version of their crisper. But at the same time they lose the ability to rocket jump so classes like enforcer that can do extremely high dps if they land all their shots can melt them in an instant.

I liked the premise and as a huge arena shooter/fast paced shooter fan I thought it was going to be great. Overwatch was too flat and slow, maybe this will be 3D and fast?
But it's really not, the low gravity areas feel like shit it's not exactly fun to play in them.

I played for about 10 hours during the Beta and had some fun with Vanguard, Juggernaut and Medic but ultimately it didn't grip me and once the beta was over I didn't think about the game again. Went back to Titanfall 2, Quake Champions and Reflex.
I think the game is just not for me. But my other friends who have also been playing arena fps for years and whom are also much better than me all agree that Lawbreakers isn't very good or very "gripping".

I can have fun with games like Battlefield, Cod, Overwatch and CS that are much more flat than Lawbreakers, and I don't know why.

I tried the beta just to play with the Assassin character. She's fun, but worth 30 - 40.

I imagine a huge reason it failed was not only because of marketing, but a lack of relatable characters. Overwatch is full of a diverse range of cultures, characters, and wiafus - there's something for everyone.

Because the game simply doesn't have any 'core' base upon which everything else is built. Quake and Tribes have distinctive movement that feels good, TF2 has characters that combine well, etc.

What you're actually left with is just recognising some feature and thinking 'this is just a poor version of this other game that did this thing'
