What did you think of the Dark Souls 2 DLCs?

The only part of the game that isn't bad desu, they're pretty good. Apart from those co-op optional boss areas.

I liked them, don't understand all the hate for the cool ranch smelter demon. I actually didn't think Frigid Outskirts were that bad, I thought the areas before the gank squad boss was a lot worse. Ice dudes had way too much poise. I thought Alonne was a lot harder than Raime

every room is the same bland square room full of generic knights

Shulva was nice. Brume tower was awful. Eleum Loyce was even worse.

I wouldn't exactly consider that a proper bossfight. Cave of the Dead, just like Iron Passage and Frigid Outskirts, was supposed to just be an optional area to dick around in with your coop buddies. It was never supposed to be a proper solo area with high quality encounters.

Lack of any attention to details and same boring bosses as in the main game.
I appreciate that they invited Zin to work on level design and it shows, but it's DS2, it can't be anything other than trash.

Condensed versions of everything that is garbage about DaS2 and I don't know what everyone sees in them. It has some of the most awful bosses in the entire series with fume knight being the only not terrible one, and the single worst boss in the entire series with the gank squad. Also the worst area in the entire series with frigid outskirts

This isn't DS1

Dragon's Sanctuary is my favorite area possibly in the entire series.
Only second to maybe undead burg but that's pretty much it. And undead burg has the bonus of being pretty much the first souls area for most people.

I wonder how it would compare to boletarian palace.

an improvement over the mediocrity of the vanilla areas/bosses, but that doesn't mean much

Some of the best and longest zones in the series and they more than make up for the lesser areas in the base game, with the exception of Drangleic Castle (there is really no excusing the main castle being so poorly designed.)
