Funny enough Valve is probably one of the companies that has made loot boxes made right. You can actually trade the content you get from the boxes, you can buy what's in the boxes on the community market if you don't want to gamble.

Pricing their cosmetic stuff with such ludicrous mark ups will also discourage potential customers from buying them. I know I would have jumped at the opportunity to buy something from the store if the currency for it was even slightly more reasonably priced.

Another thing is how they do not offer exact amounts of the currency, but force you to buy set amounts at set prices. They then price things along the lines of 210 or other, slightly above the cutoff point for their packages, goading you to cough up the cash for 400 points even if you only need the 210.

Again, I understand that profit needs to be made, but this goes beyond making ends meet and is harmful only to them, as people will not invest in something that costs so much.
