I don't understand why they didn't add these in Warlords of Draeneor. There were thousands of Draenor draenei that turned their back on the naaru and the draenic leaders to form the Legion-worshipping Sargaerei. Why can't we make a player controlled draenei that has gotten similarly disillusioned with the Light? It's not like warlocks go around shouting "I summon demons" from the rooftops. They hide what they truly are and they practice their demonic magics behind closed doors. Why is that an acceptable excuse for, say, humans, but not for draenei?

As if the eredar are strangers to the concept of lies and subterfuge. One of their leaders is called The Deceiver for fuck's sake.

Yes. The Alliance is thousands of times larger than the Horde. Any faction conflict should end with the Horde completely demilitarised. After the dozen chances they had the same should happen if the Horde sneezes funny.
That can't ever happen with the game being what it is, so it's best to stay the hell away from it.

Levels exist in the first place to create a disparity between where new, intermediate and old players can go. If you make everything scale then there's no point to levels at all because the entire game becomes Oblivion, where your seasoned veteran in all purples can get his shit kicked in by a bandit with a knife hanging outside the new player zone. Leak is surprisingly well written for something that is probably fake.

It follows a similar structure to previous announcement websites and takes effort to replicate a quickly copy and pasted memo from a beta website.

In the end it's just going to be another wow expansion where every patch is pretty much Fall of a Lich king v37.0.

I seriously don't think the game has evolved much since 3.3. I can only really think of LFR and Mythic + being the only thing that really shook up the fundamental game play.

I guess when you hire x-hardcore raiders to design your game, raiding is all they care about. Who the fuck cares about making the world feel dangerous or making dungeons not feel like filler content.

It's very un-Draenei, but I could still see it happening for the same reason Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, etc, have Warlocks even though Warlocks have fucked their civilizations up: Each civilization has outliers. Some Draenei don't rely on the Light for everything. Some are pragmatic and practical and fine with shadow magic. Why wouldn't a few of them be Warlocks to fight fire with fire?

I just hope they let you choose Eredar skin colors.
A red-skinned Draenei Warlock would probably make me resub for the first time since Legion launched.

Honestly the Pandaland was surprisingly good.
Renewed Alliance vs Horde tensions after the WotLK hugbox, when everyone fought against the LK united.
Some Old Gods bits and a new insectoid race, some Titans bits.
The new daily questing islands were also pretty damn good for the time. Dunno how they compare to Legion's world quests and whatnot.

even as someone who went into vanilla without any friends playing, the way the game is structured quickly pushes you into making friends naturally. you don't even really have to try, you just start to do a content, group with some people, do a dungeon or two and you'll have a guild by then almost guaranteed. might not be a raiding guild but it's a group of people who are down to do stuff and hang out. that sense of community was a huge part of what made vanilla great (that and the atmosphere and overall level of difficulty of overworld content being much higher) and it's absent from the game until max level now, and even then there are people who never get involved.

wow has been around for, what, 14 years? it was a game that was created a certain way for a certain type of player and it was structured around that playerbase. it wasn't designed for casuals who wanted to play a single player game, every element was designed for the playerbase it was trying to attract. that was the playerbase that made it the titan it is today, OUR money created the behemoth.

once the game took off, it started drawing casuals like yourself to it and they started complaining that they couldn't experience the content when they only played two hours on a saturday every week. rather than telling them "fuck off, this game's not for you, go play any of the other billion games out there," they dumbed down parts of the game that used to be designed for the core playerbase so that they'd be more appealing to casuals. they did this because they realized that the casual market is a lot larger than the core market and they could make a lot more money keeping casuals hooked than core players hooked; core players are only good for popularizing a game but they're a pretty small market.

so blizzard took a game experience that resonated with a lot of people because it was difficult, community-driven, and had some absolutely fantastic worldbuilding and they turned the difficulty down to nothing for most of the content which ruined the community-driven aspect and made nobody pay attention to the worldbuilding.

it's not really about you. you're not the problem. blizzard actually listening (out of greed) to people like you over the people who grew the game is the problem.

The MMO genre was evolving just fine before WoW came along, you had games like FFXI that was an actual story based beautiful combination between MMO and JRPG and games like SWG that was a fucking sandbox MMO lightyears ahead of its time. Then WoW came along and homogenized the genre into what we have now while sealing off any attempts at the evolutionary process continuing.
