I played since the first monster hunter all the way up to mh4u. I looked at the Worlds gameplay and it's just so different I can barely recognize it. Jumping around everywhere (already happening more and more in latest installments), stealth bullshit, rope swinging bullshit, etc. Whatever, i'm probably a huge nostalgia fag but in my opinion MHP2nd/MHFU was the peak of the series.

IG basically took all the aerial movement from Tonfas in World.
Now all that's left to see is if they make the same mistakes and we have people bouncing around like retards because a specific set of skills makes it crazy strong.

I decided to pick up 4, after seeing the trailers for world. I have to say the only hard part about it are the controls, & "extra" animations like the flex after a potion. I'm around 50 hours in, on basarios. My favorite weapon is the charge blade, but the switch axe seems to work well for tail cuts.

I was glad they changed it too at first, but then I realized that the BM weapons still get extra defense, and gunners elemental. So it's not much different than before, if at all. But that means we're getting only half as many armor designs now, since the gunner sets are out.

I don't understand why people are saying this, we got an idea of the motion values from the recent showing and they are so much weaker than both the kinsect and ground combos. It even takes IG a stupidly long time to mount compared to GS and DB so abusing the flat 150 damage from a mounting finisher won't save it.
Unless if the Airborne skill returns and it gets more than a 10% damage boost there is no hope for staying in the air for IG except movement

It's a "perfect storm" type of deal. Tonfa's aerial attacks were overall weak as well, but the speed of the attacks, the stagger values on backs, and the skills to up damage all combined into a mess where with a fair degree of skill you could stunlock a monster by bouncing on it and staying in the air. Sorta similar effect to the old Lance Headlocking way back in the day.

Personally, I believe the odds of it happening are low, mainly due to the fact that they have that previous example to build off of and what to avoid. But there's still a chance.

I have no idea about that at this point, release is a ways off, but you can probably just undub it with a fan-made patch just like most games if you play it on PC.

That or you can probably abuse region-free consoles and fiddle with the settings to have it use JP if you really want to (which is how it's done for SOME games). I don't really care since I'll be using Wyverian.
