Only thing it has going for it is the setting and some of the voice-over works. Gets old and tedious real quick.

If you really want to, just watch a no commentary stream for free and get the same experience.

I'm talking about the actual game itself. Shitty third-person camera angle, boring/repetitive combat with no depth or enemy variety, juvenile puzzles fitting for "walking simulator" complaints. It is the epitome third-person cinematic experience this side of Last of Us, which at least had multiplayer and guns to shake things up, ontop of still feeling fresh at the time.

And all this comes to a head at the end, where the "final boss" is, you guessed it, a repetitive gauntlet of common enemies you faced before. Until you die to the tune of some generic soft-rock (which lets you know this game is really DEEP dude wow).

There's the reason the reviews only harp about the story narrative and atmosphere. And again, the setting is only thing off the top of my head that I will give it.

It takes a cool concept, and makes something generic and forgettable out of it.
