Verticality, Interaction, optional solutions, no loading times, cross-room puzzles/out of box thinking, no padding (braindead enemies like in other Zelda dungeons or slow puzzles).
The hate the four beasts in BotW is literally a proof for me most "hardcore gamers" actually have no clue about game design.
Those dungeons were absolutely amazing. And the main reason they are so short compared to old Zelda dungeons is because they don't insult your intellect. There are actually optional ways to beat them, you can rush and skip things, barely any mini cutscenes or loading times, no gaes every meter, no pushing cubes, no carrying things around for minutes.
They are everything people wanted and people hate them.
I agree. I do wish there were more or they were longer but what is there is amazing.
Just ignore the idiots who want more cinematic set-pieces and puzzles that make you feel smart without actually being smart.

Don't listen to puzzlefags, they're just upset that even Aonuma thinks block puzzles are not what Zelda is all about. There's a reason that BoTW has the most perfect scores in history.

I never really thought about it, but BOTW doesn't have a single traditional block push puzzle, does it?
I never really liked those.

They're boring trash and Zelda needs real dungeons again.
>inb4 no u
I honestly agree. I thought they were great and my biggest problem with the game is that there weren't more or they weren't supplemented by more traditional dungeons in the shrines. All of the beasts being all giant interconnected puzzles, because you can use the various movements of them to solve all of its spatial puzzles in a lot of different ways since the game is built around traversal.
I was very surprised to find out that the reaction on /v/ to them was so negative.
>game made for 10 year olds.
>peak of level design.
No.
Breath of the Wild is everything I wanted a Zelda game to be and never realized. I'm kind of scared they will do something completely different for the next one.

With the almost universal acclaim and over 5 million sales? I imagine that BOTW's style is going to be the new standard for 3D Zelda.

>they're boring trash and zelda needs real boring trash again
Huh

>people hate them
Because they are short, that's the main complaint. If anything it shows people like them because they want more. The other is that they look the same which is honestly just aesthetic based
OOT is still the best game

No it's dark souls. It invented difficulty, remember?
>>386627153
The elephant dungeon was the only good one all the rest sucked especially the bird one.

I honestly feel that Breath of the Wild is to 2017 what OoT was to 1998. Not perfect, will not age great, but a rock-solid foundation the adventure games in the future will be building from.
