I really hope they go for more of a ye olde style fantasy for the next FF, I actually enjoyed the modernish setting for xv despite its other glaring flaws.

But I'd really like an FF6 style clash of steampunk and medieval again.

He is still real anyway, the people of dream zanarkand are made of pyreflies just like humans are, they even go the farplane when they die, other than the fact that they are held together by the fayth they are pretty much exactly the same as humans. X-2 is canon though, you can't deny that.
