I've only played 3,5 and PSP ones. I was about 3/4 of Zero and never played others. Story is fine (as in B movie) in 5 and game is fun but overall I felt more attached to characters in 3 because of branchings and deaths. Not to mention I was teen that time and it hit harder. It's genuinely awful. I could not recommend that you stay away from it enough. It's not even like a trainwreck that you can't help look away from or something that's so bad it's good, it's just a soulless, poorly written story that wastes every decent idea it has, all the while having no reason to be a game instead of a forgotten Young adult novel that it resembles so much. Excluding games that just don't work or games that were clearly just made in an afternoon as a joke, it's probably one of the worst games I've ever played. The only praise I can give it is that it is functional and it doesn't have any gamebreaking bugs or anything.
