It's extremely hard to make mistakes with.
You suffer a dps loss when you mana overdose, when you have the boss fly away as you melee (5 second window), when you cap mana or have them be equal, when you let manafication sit for too long, when you open with a non-Veraero/thunder cast, but at the end of the day these situations are almost impossible to run into.

Meanwhile a SAM fucking up and not pulling out enough Shinten, using Hagakure wrong, fucking up Higanbana in any way and using big dick attacks without having all the buffs/debuffs in place will at least lose its top dps status, invalidating its purpose.

RDM is new levels of EZ mode

To put it in perspective: To get their main damaging spell, fire IV, a BLM has to get to Astral fire III, activate enochain, and constantly reactivate astral fire/umbral ice or else enochain falls off. Fire IV and Blizz IV both have a potency of 260 with lengthy cast times.

Now look at RDM. Jolt > (Dualcast) veraero/verthunder, which have high potencies already, then if you're lucky cast Verfire or Verstobe for 270 potency. If you're lucky then you just keep using a 270 potency spell every other GCD for free. All of this on top of Melee burst for deeps. The potency of Jolt II is retarded as well

A good chunk of the dungeons will fuck you up even if you try that shit without a tank. Sohm Al and Autumn Vale come to mind first, same goes for Aery, Vault, I've even done it on disk vigil. It's usually sprouts/first timers that try it so they don't have the ilvl to back them up.

It's the same principle as getting collectables from unspoiled nodes.
Ephemeral nodes spawn at certain times. Items from them can be gathered as collectables and reduced into crystals and clusters/aethersand. The biggest difference is that you only get 4 gathers instead of 6 like unspoileds have.
More quality = more rewards.
Higher level item = lower quality needed for more rewards

Another note about ephemeral nodes is that collecting 3 nearby nodes will cause it to reappear and can be repeated until its timeslot ends.
