i dont understand mob aggro in gw2. they always seem to go for pets only. so if you want to do anything challenging make sure you have a few pet necros and rangers around

This was a major problem for me. Quit at 65. Dungeons were no fun. Story and writing was atrocious (the very early personal story was nice at least).

Personally i fell like I never go anywhere,I leveled up a mesmer to 50 and stopped playing for a while, then before I came back I believed that I was still lvl 30, then when I noticed that I was indeed lvl 50 I was really surprised, this is because no matter how much I level I don't feel like I'm progressing. the fact that my level keep getting synced wherever I go doenst help at all.

Depends on how you define "fail". It's more or less a financial success, at least as far as I know. The gameplay is mediocre overall, but not downright terrible. As a successor to GW1 and in terms of writing, then it is indeed a failure.

It's a very functional pretty princess dress up game. You can make many variety of waifu. Smol Asura, furry Charr, thicc Norn, exotic salads, vanilla Humans. You can dress them up in heavy armor (in both slutty and functional varieties), trenchcoats (or one of the like two non-trenchcoat medium armors), and pretty princess dresses (mostly slutty). You can also spend dozens of hours grinding to get them the fanciest of gimmicky e-peen legendary weapons.

You can even spend real money (or large amounts of in game currency) to get overdesigned cash shop skins, including ridiculously styled hair in any pastel or neon color you desire.

Sorry, it's by Jeremy Soule, the "english horns and hapsichord" guy. Almost everything after Oblivion sounds exactly the fucking same, I don't get why people like this guy so much. I mean sure, there are some nice themes here and there but it's all so bland and samey. He's the Hans Zimmer of the video game world for me.

It's not your fault. It's significantly easier to make a fairly aesthetic slut than it is to make a decent looking male. My first character was a male Charr warrior and it was a struggle to make him not look dopey as shit. Thank god for the Inquest helm.

The amount of stuff that is currently in the cash shop will probably outweigh the number of things that you can obtain by playing the actual game soon. To me it feels like it's now a giant cash grab.

I am aware that you can get gems by trading your in-game gold for them, but playing the game that much, to amass that much gold, is insane.

One of the biggest failures of modern MMOs is the call of duty character development style.

This is where RPG elements and character building is replaced with 'hotswappable' 'weapon attachment' style systems.

Take GW2's 'specialisation' system... It's more similar to slapping on a silencer to a rifle in one fight.. and in the next fight slapping on an iron sight.

The only game that does mmoRPG development properly anymore is PoE and even then they put the spells on gems (but they DID take that system pretty far, and made it pretty flexible).

When an actionRPG has the most flexible and diverse characterbuilding system you KNOW the MMORPG market is fucked.

Had a terrible combat system, they removed the holy trinity and didn't replace it with anything worthwhile, I tried a lot of classes and it just got boring as shit after awhile, not a huge variety in builds

A nice looking world, but felt pretty lifeless after awhile

Early on they kept pushing the living story bullshit and instead of adding permanent meaningful content like new dungeons and such they just added shitty temporary quests, I know that annoyed a lot of people.

Dungeons weren't really that exciting, fractal was a little interesting at first I suppose.

There's more things, but those are some of the ones that came off the top of my head, I tried to like GW2, but it was a complete disappointment when compared to GW1 and got so incredibly boring as time went on. It's a shame GW1 died so that GW2 could live.

Warriors were so generally good back then that it didn't even matter. All you needed was zerker gear and a greatsword and you were good to go.

Sometimes I miss the days of 5 warrior CoF runs. It was a simpler time.
