So, remember this ditz from Chapter 6 of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door? There's a point where her Shell Earrings are stolen and she wants them because they were a gift from her ex-boyfriend.

You've actually probably seen her ex-boyfriend by this point in the game without knowing. In Podley's bar in Rogueport(he and the other barkeep in Glitzville are from the bean kingdom from Superstar Saga btw. He even serves Chuckola Cola), there's a Squeek(the blindfolded purple mouse dudes) that says "..." means "SCRAM!" then talks about a different girl he's fallen for after each chapter. Goombella's tattle describes him as the "Ultimate Regular." After Chapter 6, he mentions a trip to the Excess Express and giving the earrings away to a girl. Also noteworthy is Toodles the toad's Gold Ring. After Chapter 7, he mentions a Silver Ring he gave to a woman, perhaps a translation error for a Gold Ring or something of that nature, though that last bit's just speculation.

So, in Sonic Chaos, there is a zone called "Mecha Green Hill" that looks like a mechanized Green Hill Zone (as you could guess by the name). This is not a reproduction: The manuals for the Master System and Japanese Game Gear version imply that the zone is the original Green Hill turned robotic. The music is even a remix of "Green Hills" zone from 8-bit Sonic 2.

https://youtu.be/a1LJPaYA60Y
https://youtu.be/MBgCuXy8T7s

Additionally, due to time constraints, Act 3 of Scrap Brain in Sonic 1 has a recolored Labyrinth theme. Coincidentally, the 8-bit version of Sonic 1 shows that Scrap Brain is right on top of Labyrinth on the map and zone order.
>>
>>386610001
More evidence for this is the Sonic 1 Medley, which plays the stages in order sans Labyrinth Zone.

Another note is the Sonic Advance trilogy: In SA1 and SA2, Eggman is capturing animals to put into capsules, with SA2 in particular having a focus on it (Eggman kidnaps Sonic's friends, his final machine is designed specifically to suck up animals). In SA3, the robots are instead powered by rings, which could explain why there was such a focus.

>>386610126
In that case, it's moreso because Labyrinth was originally meant to be the second zone in Sonic 1, but got moved because it was too hard.
>>
>>386603915

>>

Waluigi's amiibo description implies that he has been spying on Luigi prior to his first appearance in Mario Tennis.

The Mario & Sonic At the Olympic Games series hints that Bowser Jr. has issues with being taken seriously or looked down upon because he's still a kid.

Unlike Peach, Daisy has mentioned her parents (her father specifically) in Mario Party 3 and Fortune Street.

In the original Japanese version of the game and some translations, Vivian is depicted as transgender, identifying as female but, due to the age rating the localizers were aiming at when translating Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, this is lost in the English version and she is described only with feminine pronouns.
>>
>>386611274
I go with western canon so Vivian is NOT a trap and will always be waifu.
>>
>>386611003
To go back to Sonic:

Internal documents for Sonic 06 note a few interesting things about Blaze: She once wore a cape that apparently controlled her fire powers and she is not secure with her breast size (or lack-thereof) and talking about it makes her furious.

On a related note, Dr. Eggman Nega's Sonic Rivals backstory (where he is Eggman's descendent) is canon, as is Blaze's Rush backstory (Where she is from another dimension) apparently, the reason Blaze didn't recognize anyone (and possibly vice-versa) is due to amnesia. This could be backed up by how Blaze echos Silver's comment about a blue hedgehog after his vision.

Anyone else have the insistent need to check on NPCs as you progress through a game's story, like Paper Mario for example. After each chapter I always check on a lot of NPCs and things at Rogueport like the dysfunctional family at Eastern Rogueport, the billboard, Don Pianto, the rich Koopa, etc. Also helps that the merchant guy, and badge shop changes what deals they're selling at different times.

King Dedede in Revenge of The King is basically a parody of Meta Knight, even going as far as to offer Kirby a hammer before they fight. The only exception is his mask which, as the current director of the series points out, is modeled more after Dark Mind, the final boss of Kirby and The Amazing Mirror. This is made especially explicit in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, where King D-Mind is a shadow version of Masked Dedede, except his mask is almost exactly the same as Dark Mind's (who also shows up in the boss fight, functioning similarly to Dark Matter). It is said that it is unknown where Dedede found the mask.

Dark Nebula's Japanese name is "Dark Zero", implying it could have a connection to Zero, the final boss of Dream Land 3 and the core/Boss of the Dark Matter. Additionally, Dark Nebula's eye more closely resembles Zero/Zero Two (the entire eye is colored, whereas all the other Dark Matter have only colored a iris) and when it dies, its eye is the only part that explodes.

Plus, it's just guessing, but the Mario & Luigi games seem to do a thing with the bosses. First the secret boss was a tougher version of Bowser, then Bowser Jr., then Dry Bowser. Why would they want you to think Dry Bowser's stronger when the final boss is Bowser and Paper Bowser fused?

CD's zones were also meant to parallel Sonic 1's zones. Part of the evidence for Sonic CD's "Round 2" being a ruins level is the lack of Marble Zone equivalent (the only Sonic 1 zone not to have one)

>>386612804
>Different eye socket shape
Because Bowser's head no longer has skin.

>Dry Bowser has a beak, Bowser does not
Probably hidden under his flesh. It makes biological sense and partially explains why the average Koopa has a turtle's beak, but Bowser and his kind have an ox-ish face.

>Hair in a ponytail, Bowser doesn't do that
He did it when he was a child.

>Different brace color
Scorched by the lava?

>Secret Boss
possibly non-canon considering that, stat-wise, Bowser Jr. is stronger than Dreamy Bowser.

We see him fall into the lava, come back up as Dry Bowser and later, when Bowser Jr. throws his father's remains in the pot, Bowser returns as his normal form. His lava resistance failed because the plot demanded it.

Shouldn't Vivian have, like, told Mario and co about the Shadow Queen?
Or was Beldam the only one who actually knew out of the sisters?
But then why would the throne room be familiar to Vivian?
>>
>>386613464
It's likely Beldam was the only one who knew what was going on and people tend to have memories of their past when they're young but not really know the context of some things.

Man I've seen debates about this going back years. The tattle description for the X-Yux enemy flat out says it should be pronounced "Cross Yux", not "Ecks Yux". But in the very beginning of Chapter 2 when you first learn of X-nauts, if you have Koops out then he makes a joke about how the name sounds like a tissue brand (Ex-Snot). So different people in the localization team were definitely pronouncing it different ways.

>>
>>386612457
That's pretty neato. Here's another designer oversight regarding the Excess Express. After you pull into Rogueport from a trip back from Poshley Heights(like coming back from Chapter 6, for example), go back inside the Excess Express without leaving the screen. The layout is normal, except the room the train is controlled from in front and the storage area in back have been swapped and the panel concealing a star piece in the control room is nowhere to be found. This is in contrast to the rest of the cabins being the same, so the storage room is now next to room 1. Nobody in-game comments on this.
>>
>>386614491
>>386612067
>>386611932
Obviously this hasn't been settled either way, do you really think the games would go into explicit enough detail to specify whether Vivian is just crossdressing or is a post-op tranny?
Given the fact that she's a Japanese character and they love them some traps, and I can't imagine what sort of doctor a secretive dying race would go to get their dick chopped off, he's probably just crossdressing.
