I kind of enjoyed it. Certainly not the card game experience you'd expect from a Yugioh game, but it was decent anyway. Kind of a weird RTS RPG fusion, I think it's worth trying at least just for the novelty to see if you like it.
On another note, I've gotten a hankering to play some Yugioh vidya, I've only really played old stuff like Forbidden Memories, Duelist of the Roses, and the subject of OP's pic, so I'm a bit out of the loop. What's the best YGO vidya?

It was fun. I remember trying to get my favorite monster, Red Eyes Black Dragon, as my overworld avatar thing

There was literally a thread on this yesterday.
I haven't played much yugioh vidya besides pic related, but I liked the first 2 tag force games.

Now imagine if Synchro and XYZ had existed at the time

It would ruin the atmosphere of the game.
Move over, faggot

It was pretty cool, but too slow for me to say I fully enjoyed it. I liked that one mode where it was just battle after battle with a team you could put together.

This game keeps on giving, they just recently found hundreds of hidden cheat codes to get almost all of the game's cards, and someone also found a way to duel Duel Master I without a cheat device.
It was a fun blend of RPG and RTS, though admittedly a "babby's first" version of both. The music was catchy, though in retrospect too short and lacking something, and using the Egyptian god cards was very enjoyable. Obelisk even had a special attack just for fighting the other Egyptian gods.

I'd say the simplicity works to its advantage given its premise and atmosphere.
I really don't remember a single thing wrong with this game.
