What do you think of Grand Theft Auto IV? Is it worth it?

I enjoyed more doing the extra stuff needed to get the 100% completion that playing the main storyline.

Its a good video game but It was overrated when it came out and now suddenly its overrated yet again. /v/ tries to act cool and shit dissing 5 so they tricked themselves into thinking 4 is better. It was a huge letdown because the cool fun shit from San Andreas was gone. 5 is like 4 with shit that made SA good but you cant stop the circle jerk against 5's Online. So short answer is yes

Unironically my favourite GTA, and I am a hardcore GTA loser who still plays them ALL regularly.

GTA IV > GTA 2 > GTA SA > GTA VC > GTA III >>> GTA:O >>> GTA V

I still firmly believe it's better than V.

I played it and all its DLC three times. I think it was as good as all the reviews said it was. It's one of my favorite games of all time. Gay Tony was the best story line.

Holy shit though its just like the game.

Hated it on release.
Went back to replay it a few months ago and ended up totally hooked.

I love the driving mechanics, the shooting even if it isn't particularly advanced, fighting randoms on the street and causing chaos in general. Also the city is really nice to traverse and to enjoy the sights.
And many of the characters are surprisingly decent, which feels like a breath of fresh air compared to GTA V where everyone was so wacky and melodramatic.
