Dunno about any games that feature actual spiral power, but The Wonderful 101 has pretty similar levels of hype if that's the kind of itch you're looking to scratch. Especially the ending chapters and boss fights.

TTGL having big mechs getting bigger does not mean it's incapable of including a theme in its storytelling. Almost every fictional work has some sort of theme.
