As someone who's only played Dark Souls, what the fuck is so divisive about the sequels? They all seem incredibly similar, fundamentally. Undoubtedly there are things to prefer from one to the other, but how can people love one and hate another? None of them have any world design comparable to the original, and level design is also a big step down in both. 2 has some fresh ideas but the atmosphere is very much not dark fantasy, and 3 has absolutely no originality and soul. 2 and 3 are both just shells for the combat to exist in, 3 much moreso than 2 imo. At least 2 had some potential and originality. The real sequel to DS1 is Bloodborne, it actually did its own thing while still borrowing elements instead of attempting to be a direct sequel and completely failing at it.

I never beat the crystal dragon it was too high level and I refused to farm, which made the entire crafting system useless. The last boss one-shot everyone but my rogue which I cheesed using some sort of hiding exploit and won by backstab. Greta fucking game, played it on releaset was terrible garbage. PoE was a disappointment.

I never said it was as good, faggot. It was the closest thing to the old games at the time and I PIRATED it, so I wasn't disappointed. Also, I never get caught up in all of the hype so I played it a year after it was released. The game was alright but had a horrible storyline that consisted of lore dump after lore dump.

I did, however, get caught up in the D:OS hype. People everywhere were claiming it was the best thing ever, had a magnificent story, incredible combat, etc etc etc. When I played it, the combat reminded me of a shitty fantasy take on Jagged Alliance 2 with a worse setting and corny, generic writing. Every character in D:OS was forgettable besides the guy that polymorphed into a cat and every combat took a fucking eternity. And after you beat one massive horde of enemies, you'd take a few steps and have to do the entire thing all over again. The entire game felt like a slog and the story wasn't interesting enough to keep me playing.
